Question about 2002 Volvo S60

1 Answer

S60 Geartronic Hi - my 2004 s60 D5 has just had a major service and the very next day when reversing out of my drive it felt like the offside rear wheel seized up. I had to put into drive then reverse about three times to get out the drive and then get going. This has now happened several times since. The garage haven't looked at it yet and say it was nothing to do with the service. What do you think it might be? thanks in adv. N

Thanks! - That's exactly what the problem was. The volvo garage charged me £100 to fix it. After just spending £750 the week before for a full service and new tyre, I will try looking around next time!

    Cheers Nigel

Hi i think you will find its the handbrake shoes sticking to the inside the rear disce. The problem is more accute when weather is wet or damp and car not used for some days or more.

I have a s60. we were driving and it sputtered

ok...the first thing i would look at is your battery and charging system a lot of electrical problems can stem from the root .....if this does not help than you will have to find a schematic and check out the wireing for that circuit also take a look at all the fuses good luck

Sounds as if a synchronizer is going out in 3rd gear, or 3rd gear maybe stripped. I would get it checked by a tranny (transmission) shop before it ended up costing you more money. There is a possibility that there may be some shavings on that gear as well, which would just need cleaned.
