SOURCE: how to make heater get hot in 94 chevy caprice.

This is a very common problem with the 94, really common with the LT1. I have done everything I can think of with my Caprice, and lets just say I don't drive it in the winter anymore.

1992 Chevy Caprice is leaking antifreeze at or near the firewall in the engine compartment. Is this from the heater core? How do I access it?

Usually if it's leaking at the firewall, it's a heater hose, or depending on what engine you have, a coolant pipe on the engine. With this age of vehicle, it's more likely that a heater hose has a leak, or the clamp has failed, or something similer. Most of the time, if the heater core fails, you will smell it on the inside of the car, and you will usually find your floormat and carpet getting wet.

Yes a heater core that is slightly plugged will do this.. Also I found once, that there is a restrictor inline in one of the heater hoses looked like a plastic hose connector and It had a large flake of lime that would intermittently block off flow check for this as well..good luck

1994 chevy caprice no heat. changed termostat. antifreeze full. fans in back of radiator are not moving

Heater core is plugged or you have a air pocket. If you take off the heater lines and try blowing through them both ways. The fans will not move until the engine gets hot.

Need to replace heater core on 71 carpice

Yes he has to drain the system. It is located at the bottom of the dashboard. If looking into the engine compartment, you will see whre the hoses connecting to the heater core go into the cab at the back firewall. The heater core is just inside the cab.
