SOURCE: Camshaft torque specs on a 1992 Toyota 4runner

Hi there:
The camshaft position sensor is installed on the front of the right cylinder head of the 5VZ-FE engine. The timing rotor has been integrated with the right bank camshaft timing pulley. While the camshaft rotates, the air gap between the protrusion on the timing rotor and the pick-up coil changes.

After replavcement procedure, attach the camshaft position sensor to the engine, tighten to 69 inch lbs. (8 Nm).

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Could you tell me the torque settings for the head on a 3ltr td 4runner approx 1995 thank

would be a good idea to go to some toyota forums and read about this engine(3vzfe). Possibility that the factory torque specs for these cylinder heads is not ideal. I have read that you might need an extra 90 degree of tightening for better reliability. Don't take my word for it/ just research before you commit!

91 Toyota 4runner runs rough once warmed up at a idle but does fine going down the road. idles at 500 rpm when warm

ive had a problem like this before it turned out being a shim under the camshaft worn and when idle it wasn't pushing the valve down properly.all it took was shimming it out.might want to check that out pending your mileage.
