SOURCE: Changing of front wheel bearing

i assume u want to both inner and outer bearings...you have to pull the whell off the caliper for the brakes has to come off, there will be a center cap on the hub,,take ot off, inside there you will find a nuts with a cotter pin in it.remove it.gently pull on the hub abd iit should come off in your hands.the outer bearings will come out always remember to repack them with grease before you replace them the inner bearings will be behind the rotor and will have to be chanfed also as well as greased, you have to do this on both sides the same process.put it back together the same way you take it apart

SOURCE: Brake light displays

Look at the master cylinder fluid level. If it is low, the red brake lamp will come on. Note that as the front brake pads wear, the brake fluid level will drop proportionally. If the fluid level is indeed low, you may need front brake pads, Unless you have a lot of miles on it, I doubt that you will need rear brake shoes. Also, if the fluid is low, don't add any. When you DO have to replace the pads, the additional fluid will be forced out of the cylinder and get all over your engine compartment under the master cylinder area . Brake fluid will eat the paint. Check the brake pads, replace them if the pad material is worn.

as a toyota technician, its probably the wrong fitted of the ring, once you replace the bearing they will removed the ring and in that ring there is a small hole that the sensor goes in. speedometer will not work not work if there is a malfunction in abs and it is speedometer, brake warning light are integrated with abs ecu.

The most likely cause is that the wheel speed sensor wire got stretched during disassembly, and needs to be replaced not. If the wires arent disconnected from the hub, or strut during disassembly, they get pulled and yanked and the wires inside stretch to far, but you cant see it because the outside looks ok. Happens all the time.

I changed my front wheel bearings on my 2009 Mazda and now I have ABS BRAKE AND POWER SYEERING LIGHTS ON.

by changing the wheel bearings you have to remove the brake callipers and hubs
the abs sensor reads off the back of the hub so check each wheel to ensure that the wire is still connected to the sensor and that the sensor is the correct distance from the rotor on the back of the hub, the rotor for the sensor looks like a bar code or segmented piece around the hub center
it may have fallen off or been damaged during the bearing change

Some vehicles speedometer works off the ABS wheel sensors. Have the codes checked for the ABS system. Check the fuses for the ABS also.

I have a 2004 ford fiesta 1.4 tdci,at the moment the car is still in a non ford garage ,it went in for a osf wheel bearing replaced,it came back to me with the abs light on,after the front wheel was...

abs sensors run very close to the rotor in the disc or hub and can be easily damaged it the play in the failed bearings was sufficient to allow it to touch
when doing the wheels and bearings it is important not to damage the sensor if it was not touching the rotor
if it damaged or the wiring is not connected , the abs light will be on
you can get sensors from the wreckers /junk yard at a good price
after replacing the rear wheel bearings and the hand brake light is on suggests that the correct procedure was not used or the cabling was adjusted off to get the callipers off the disc and not properly adjusted on completion of the job
as the work is being done in a confined space it is possible that a harness plug was disconnected to get access
you have several options
1---have the fault codes read, fix any sensor problem,
2-- take it to an accredited service center that has experience on your make of vehicle as I think that going back to the original shop is not a good idea

I was wondering on a alero 99 , i replaced the brakes and a caliper and fixed my brake lines but my abs light is on but it sounds like a airplain when u drive their is no shaking or grinding in the front...

YEP BAD WHEEL BEARING WILL MAKE A ROARING LIKE NOISE WHILE IN MOTION.BAD WHEEL COULD PUT DRAG ON WHEEL WHICH CAUSE ABS LIGHT TO COME ON.YOUR WHEEL BEARING HAS THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR BUILT INTO IT.SO IF WHEEL BEARING BAD THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR PART OF ABS BRAKE SYSTEM WILL CAUSE ABS LIGHT TO COME ON IF WHEEL BEARING BAD.MAKE SURE FRONT BRAKE PADS INSTALLED CORRECTLY IF NOT. YOU WILL GET TERRIBLE WHEEL NOISE ALSO.

My service traction light is one and my abs light is on

The abs makes the traction control work so fix the ABS first. The most common thing thea haqppens are the wheel speed sensers fail. In the front wheels the speed senser is incorperated into the front wheel bearing. these bearings are well known to fail at about 100 thousand miles and can fail aqs early as 80 thousand miles and most all of them fail before 140. You might notice a roaring sound ( like noisiy treaded tires) You can jack up one front wheel at a time and get in the car as your driving it and put the car in gear and run the car ( not moving but thwe trie is turing and listen for noise. I fht e wheel makes a roaring sound that gets worse as you go faster that wheel bearing is bad. Don't go over about 50 as with one tire on the groung the other that is turning, is going twice that fast or 100 MPH at 50 on the speedometer. Do the same test on the other wheel and if it's quiter or quite just change the noisy one. Once changed you just drive the car and the new wheel speed senmser will be reconized and the ABS light will go out as will the trac off light. If your ready to change both wheel bearings do so as they both have the same miles on them just not nessarily the same potholes and other rough pavement that makes them wear out faster. If thebearings are quite then you need to inspect the wires coming outr of the back of the wheel bearing.. Thjese wires get into troble and get unplugged or break the wire. If you havwe asscess to a scasnner that will address ABS systems it'll point out the ABS problem. Things that happen other than the wheel speed sensers are fuses blown for other reasons. The accumulater motor failure or extreamly cold weather the accumulate motor locks up in cold and blows the fuse. Thwe motors seldom fail but they can and do. Some veicals are nerer serviced and the brake fluild accumulates moisture ( as it's supossed to) and peaple never get the brakeing system seviced and the old brake fluild can freeze in cold weather and start croduing things. The Traction control sysem uses the brakes to control wheel spin by puting on the brake on the spinning wheel. If the system notices a wheel spinning. (Using the wheel speed sensers) So until the ABS is fixed don't try to fix the traction control system as it truly is part of the ABS systyem.
