Go to an AutoZone, or a place like that. They scan the car for free, andf they give you the codes. After you get the codes, please get back to me for more help.

A FixYa rating would be greatly appreciated.

Code p2716

This is a common problem on corollas and matrix, it's an engine control module (ECM) malfunction, toyota has issued a recall on them, visit the toyota dealer to get the ECM replaced at no charge, there is no time or mileage limit.

How may more miles can I drive in my 2006 Matrix after the Engine Maint. reqd. light goes on? I am just a few miles beyond the number set by mechanic (at my last oil change) for next oil change. I have...

No problem, you will be fine to drive it until you can get to the shop as long as the engine seems to be running OK and it is not overheating or the "oil" light is not on. Something as simple as a loose gas cap can turn on the maintenance light, chances are though, on this car it was common for a failing VVT-i cam sprocket to get stuck and cause misfire codes. The fix involves replacing the cam sprocket, something Toyota used to cover under warranty, but not likely anymore.

03 toyota corolla engine light on again!

Without seeing your vehicle on my scan tool, it is hard to see what is exactly going on.
But, please allow me to share the following info with you:
The P-0171 code relates to the Mass Airflow Sensor. This is a VERY common code with the Corolla product.Your dealer *** should *** have inspected it for dirt contamination, and cleaned it, if it was indeed dirty.
Secondly, The P-0125 relates to Oxygen Sensor number ONE. If your dealer replaced the wrong sensor; (#2), you can expect to have problems.
My advice: unplug, remove, inspect & clean the MAF sensor. Ensure that the air filter is clean.
This should help you quite a bit.
