Question about 1991 Honda Civic

1991 Honda Civic Dx - battery light & hesitating when starting.

Hey everyone, my battery light blinks occasionally. I would say every munite or two. It only blinks one time and it's very fast. I just got a new radiator last week. When I had the old one in, that leaked all the time, the battery light blinked alot, but never stayed lit. So, i'm confused with whats going on? Could antifreeze be leaking again and causing this? My radiator is new!

And secondly, if I go to start my car right after I just turned it off, it will start, but it hesitates. Not sure if this makes sense. Sometimes, I will have to wait 5- 10 minutes, because it will not start. This only happens when I've been driving and I turn my car on and off. For example, if I just run in the store for a minute and start my car again! Could it be my gas filter? Someone mentioned that to me, but I know zero about cars! Thank you all.....

I have the same thing happen to me every winter. Its because the altinator is placed right behind your driver wheel well so it gets wet everytime you drive in rain or snow or not so perfect driving conditions. i have replaced mines every winter it sucks but thats what you got to do to keep your car running.

CHECK ALL CONNECTION AND BOLTS ON ALTERNATOR FIRST, IF ALL IS GOODThis may sign that your alternator May be going bad. I have seen thia s before and the alternator runs for a long time, Just have charging system check and see if it charging properly. AUTO-Zone does this check for FREE. If it charging fine then drive unntil the wheels fall off(lol). All other problems you mentioned are not related to the alternator light. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA

You will need to Get the Alternator Checked out and check the Tension on the Belt.

1991 honda civc DX, what does twenty short blinks on the ECU mean. car is idling fast while cold and warm. what does that mean?

1991 will have a throttle cable for this car i would have thought ,just not familar with this what is obviously a american market model and possibly even a californian spec so this is way out of this europeon mechanics league .But if it does have a idle control valve then its possible that the ECU is faulty try measuring the voltage going to the valve ,4 wires and it reverses the current to go backwards or forewards ,so two wires go one way and the other two make it go the other way ,use a multi meter and see what you get ,also check the brake servo as if a diaphragm leak the it will **** in air making it idle high

91 honda civic dx. Starts, runs for a few seconds then stalls

Try pounding on the gas tank with a rubber mallet or similar tool. (careful not to dent the tank) Try starting it. If it runs, replace the fuel pump (it's nfg). I've diagnosed numerous fuel pumps this way. Remember the pump needs to be replaced, if you drive it, you don't know when it'll fail for good. Hope this helps. Please post the results.
