Brake light Out indicator will not go out on 1994 BMW 540i
So I changed the brake lights and the 1 brake light out indicator did not go away. I then reset the service lights by connecting pins 7 and 19. That worked and the fault cleared. Then I depressed the brake pedal and the fault came back. My brake lights are working just fine, so what do I do to make this indicator go away?

Do it again, and again, if not, try disconnecting the battery negative terminal, with ignition key on and radio on, for four minutes and than connect terminal, back,do not panic when sparks come on wile connecting it. Turn ignition key off and start engine

the fuses u are looking for are as follows:
From the top left first row its# 4
then the bottom row its # 19
I also wanted to point out. from 1989 to 1996 the brake switch was the common failure for bmw's
the series it included were 318i, 525-540i, and all 7 series. if the fuses dont fix it.. its the switch
located under a panel u need remove on the drivers side on the steering collum
If the brake light works, disconnect battery negative with ignition key ON and Radio ON, but engine OFF, four minutes after connect Battery terminal, do not panic if terminal sparks wile connecting, *** it well turn ignition key OFF, than start the motor and verify if problem remains
