It should be inside the from on the driver side, in front of the rear tire. There is a metal cover over most with 3 bolts holding it on. After the cover is off, it is all downhill.

you are saying it is getting spark, and fuel, right? If it is getting spark, and fuel in to the throttle body, check compression-make sure the Mass Air Flow sensor is plugged in, and double check your spark-you say you replaced all those ignition items, but do not say that you have spark.

I need to know where the fuel filter is on an 1988 Jeep Wrangler?

I dont know much about Jeeps, but all you have to do is get under the truck and look for the fuel lines.Fuel lines are usually shiney so you can see them easy. They should be run on the same side your gas cap is on.You should see 2 lines, one is a return line and it will not have a filter.I get gas on my driver side and my fuel filter is under the truck almost perfectly centered with the driver side door.Good luck.

Did you check the fuel filter? Did you check pump pressure? A faulty pump or a partially plugged filter can do this. Obviously filter is the first thing... it's easy to do and is often neglected, likely overdue for service anyhow! There are other things that can also cause your problem but I'd look at the common stuff first!
Good luck
