2000 Mazda 626 blows light white smoke after reaching 50mph?

basically it needs tuning and / or cleaning, you can a try an Internal Engine Cleaner Crc Motor Treatment 16 6.55 eBay. and see if that helps, i understand your worries about the headgasket of water problems, the best way to tell is to take your oil cover off the engine and look for a white substance (mayonaise) if its black or brown its just oil and all is good, but if it is creamy white or going that way then oil has mixed with water and you may have a problem, but with it been white smoke (not to mistaken with steam) then it's prob just a tuning issue.

Mitsibushi pajero oil light time

White SWEET smelling smoke, or white OILY smelling smoke? If it's white thick SWEET smelling smoke, you have a blown head gasket - that's the smell of antifreeze burning in the engine, which it should NEVER do. If it's white OILY smelling smoke (smells a lot like diesel), then you're getting too much fuel into the cylinders.

If it's sweet-smelling smoke (antifreeze), pull the oil dipstick & check the oil level. If the oil level is HIGH and the oil looks like a mocha milkshake, that's absolutely conclusive - that's what happens when antifreeze gets into your oil, and it's nasty corrosive to engine parts.

I'm not at all surprised that the oil light is on if it won't start - you won't get much oil pressure until the engine is running.

HI TO ALL..I RECENTLY BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS with MY 96 DEVILLE IT HAS A LIGHT OIL LEAK FROM THE oil PAN.THE PROBLEM IS EVERY TIME I START MY CAR IT SHAKES REALLY BAD FOR THE First couple of minutes. AND AS...

Chances are its time for another motor, or another car.
The Northstar engines are known for oil leaks, and if it is burning coolant you will get white smoke out the exhaust. Thats usually a head gasket leaking.
You may find the cost of repair is more than the car is worth.

Did my head gasket blow? lots of white exhaust and engine is sputtering

I would lean more towards bad intake gasket. Notorious for going bad on these engines.

It sounds like it has a bad main bearing, or it is dumping oil in the fuel (bad gaskets) You definitely do not want to run the engine with low oil pressure.

Blowing white smoke

white smoke is caused by-- water or anti-freeze entering cylinder . if in radiator or the overflow tank. it will look like a chocolate milk shake. check on oil dipstick for traces of water or anti-freeze. also, a bad head gasket will let water or anti-freeze in combustion area. head gasket symtoms if bad. Symptom #1: Chronic Engine Overheating
Symptom #2: Significant Drop in Coolant Level Symptom #3: Mixing of Coolant and Engine Oil
Symptom #4: White Smoke from Exhaust Pipe

popping of overflow cap Symptom #6: Air Bubbles in Radiator

I have a 95 lhs which was given too me... it was drove back too ca from tn and messed up when it got here... it will start up but it shakes and dies and blows out white smoke.... would u think it would be...

hi.
white smoke would suggest the head gasket is blown and the smoke and the shaking and dying would be caused by coolant getting into one or more pistons and burning with the petrol.
at the very least you would need to replace the gasket and get the head skimmed.
you would also have to find out if there was an underlying problem that may have caused the gasket to blow in the first place and allow a budget to fix any remaining issues after the gasket has been repaired.

White smoke?

It's just condensation. Water will also drip from the pipe.

The colder it is, the worse the 'smoke' will be. I was in Vernal, Utah earlier this week, drove through -18*F weather, my truck never quit blowing white smoke.

And NO IT IS NOT YOUR HEADGASKET
