Question about 1991 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser

1 Answer

1986 Oldsmobile 88 Custom Cruiser misfires-won't run I was told the engine is bad. I still believe it was a stripped spark plug socket! I'm using it for a shed right now! Everything was operating excellent. I put a lot of money into it - about $2000. What should I do? Is it worth anything? Are the parts worth anything?

Camshafts and lifters went bad in these cars. GM fixed the problem by switching to roller lifters. Check valve travel.

PO306 on a 1997 olds 88?

This is a code for cylinder #6 misfire. Most likely a bad spark plug or ignition wire for that cylinder ( most common repair ). There are various other reasons for a cylinder misfire as well.

Engine light on

They are still looking for a cause because it isnt misfiring right now or because they cant find the cause of the stored misfire codes ?
If it is misfiring right now and they cant figure it out then perhaps you should find new mechanics !
I have seen a lot of bad coils on the PT.
Misfire is usually caused by spark plug wires first, spark plugs 2nd, and coil third.
If it isnt misfiring now, spray down the wires with water. If it misfires after that replace the spark plug wires and spark plugs and try again.
If it still misfires then the problem will likely be the coil.

Can't Close Electric Window

well, park a car in front of it, use a set of jumper cables and hook them up to your wagons batter cables you'll get power to roll up that window. although, if it's taped, i would assume there's something wrong with the window motor.
