Question about 1997 Ford Explorer AWD
A red light on the dashboard that says brake! has been on for the last couple of months, nothing seems to be wrong but i am very concerned.
First, check to see if the parking / hand brake is engaged just slightly. This will cause the light to remain on with out any noticeable effects. If thats ok than check the brake fluid level. make sure its at the proper level. If it still continues, than you'll have to check the individual components in the brake system. Start with the master cylinder where the brake fluid resevoir sits and look for leaks or problems with the wiring plug located on the side. good luck
