I own a 2006 chevy 2500HD with a 6.0L gas engine. I need to do a coolant flush. Through lots of research I found the flush valve for coolant systems was discontinued by GM in 2003. There is still a valve on my radiator however it looks to be plugged. Before removing the radiator hose to do a reverse flush (no radiator cap only a surge tank) I need to drain coolant above that level. Is there a way to do this or do I use the surge tank cap as I would the actual radiator cap?

Preferable to flush as much out as possible to get rid of the old stuff and can be done at home by undoing the heater hose at the fire wall and using the garden hose to force water through until it comes out clean Dont turn hose on full blast as it will spray out over everything build up to it so it doesnt make a mess.Make sure the heater is in the on position so that water comes out the pipe you took the hose off.Either way though it will still be ok to just undo the bottom radiator hose as the majority of it will come out.

The textbook method is to remove the drain plug on the bottom of the radiator.

Most drain plug is make of inexpensive nylon/plastic and it may fall apart while you turn it.

The professional method is to loosen the lower radiator clamp and drop to lower radiator hose.

Drain the coolant onto a large drain pan and recycle the coolant

Generally if one hose is hot, and the other hose is cold it indicates that they water is not circulating. You could have a defective thermostat. Take the thermostat out and run the engine without it. With the radiator cap off you should see a lot of water moving through. It that is the case, replace the thermostat and you should be ok. If there is no rapid movement of water it may be the impeller on the water pump came loose. This is rare, but it can happen since the impeller is usually pressed on the shaft. You should also check and see if you get a lot of bubbles when the car is running and the cap off. This often indicates a blown head gasket. Hope this helps.

Don't get heat in cabin

Several possibilities. If you have just had your engine coolant flushed the heater core could be filled with air preventing circulation of warm coolant. Requires bleeding of excess air from system. Search for the details for your car model. The cable controlling the heater valve may be broken, the heater core may be clogged and require a reverse flush to clean it. Heater hose could be kinked.

sounds like 100,000 mile service the fuel flush is a caustic pressurized cleaning of the fuel, valve train, emission ,and cylinders it is designed to clean the carbon and any build up on the fuel delivery system it is injected into the system and the shop or dealer can observe if and how well the cleaner is doing by using the diagnostic scanners to observe pressure changes in injectors and the differences in emissions its not like the over the counter type of cleaners which may not be strong enough to scrub like the commercial grade cleaners but it is a personal preference if u want ur fuel system cleaned most people i have known have never had it done unless they had a failure[emissions] due to carbon build up and a fuel type flush was the only way to really clean or clear lines

the braking system is not installed a the factory just the wire from the plug to the fire wall you need to add the fuse and control box

Looking for flush my coolant system in my 2006 Dodge Ram w/ 5.9 dsl. Is there a particular coolant that needs to be used or is it the same as gas engines?

yes there is a particular coolant to use most brands color the coolant for this engine red. i went to my local dodge dealer and asked to buy the special coolant as noted in the manual he said they only put in the red kind just be sure you look in your manual for the spec as noted by your manufacturer or most part stores will have the correct coolant if you go to the counter. they can look it up by application.

2006 chevy silverado 2500hd truck heats up to operating temp while in parking lot blower works well but truck will not blow any hot air until truck is driving at at least 15 to 20 mph. fuses good think...

If I understand you correctly, your temp gauge shows correct operating temperature, your blower fan blows air that you can feel with your hand from the right floor or dash outlet, but that air doesn't feel warm until you are moving?

If so, several possibilities come to mind. One is that your coolant level is low. Even though your temp gauge reads in the right range, the coolant level could be low enough that it doesn't reach the heater core until there is enough engine RPM to create more pressure from the water pump and force what coolant is there toward the heater core. Another possibility is that your heater controls are not able to do their job. A stuck flapper in the duct or a malfunction with the temperature control system could be causing the problem, and at 15-20 MPH there is enough air coming through the outside air vents to provide some heat.

I'd check the coolant level first, though. The other possibilities are more far-fetched.

No heat in my 2002 madza mpv.

Two most common causes of your problem are low coolant ( air in the heater core) and a thermo stat stuck open. If you have a temperature gauge and it is reading on the low side. Like 140 Deg or less, you need a new engine thermostat. Feel the top of the radiator tank after the car has been driven. If it is too hot to touch, the thermostat is no the problem. As the system has been flushed and filled I suspect there is enough coolant. Last item on the list is the coolant valve for the heater core. Many cars have a water valve located in line with the supply pipe to the heater core. This valve may be in the engine compartment or under the dash. Check the heater temperature control and follow the cables. One cable most likly goes to this valve. Maybe a cable retaining clop has fallen off
