First check the fuse box under the hood for a related fuse. Next check the fuse box under the dashboard. When you find the fuse, if it is not blown, look for the relay that it goes with. Check if it is switching...next check the drive motor for the door to see if it is getting power. If it is...it is shot or jammed. By the way, did you check to see if the door is UNLOCKED?

Either the linkage connected to the handle has come off, or the piece on the handle inside has broken. You will need to remove the panel from the door and repair or replace the handle.

97 Ford Explorer back doors won't open

A common problem with these are that the power door lock actuator freezes, and wont let the door unlock all the way,or the latch rusts up and again wont let door open, see if the lock arm is going up and down all the way, if not then try grabbing the lock with pliers and pulling up and then opening the door, or pull and push a few times then try to open the door, good luck.

1999 Chevrolet Venture Power sliding door opens back up after closing. I have cleaned the contacts on the door post and on the door itself. There is nothing in the way, ie: weatherstripping or seat belts....

simple door latch, try unplugging the power and see if the door opens, if it does its not the motor. if the door is out of alignment it wont latch. if the latch in the door is broke it wont latch. try locking the door when its closed.
