Hope helped with this; remember rated this help. Good luck.
the window crank is held on by a c-clip. To get it off you take a medium sized flat tip screwdriver and slip it in between the back of the crank and the panel GENTLY or you will tear up the door panel.BAD. Pry the panel away from the crank and you should be able to see the c-clip, then use a small bladed screwdriver to pop off the clip. Some times, just take your time it aint easy but it will come off and your in buisness. to get it back on do the opposit and give it a smart pop and it will usually go right on. hope it helps.
auto parts store h as special tool to remove clips but u can use a flathead scerw driver gently pull handle from door panel and sneak screw driver behind handle pushing c clip out but becarefull they sometimes shoot out
Go down to your local parts store and buy a window handle removal tool. It slides between the crank and the door panel. There is a spring clip that is in the handle that holds it onto the mechanisms post. Take the tool and slide it around till you find the clip, push and the handle will come off.
There are five screws to be removed, two of which are Torx bit. One is in the center of the door panel towards the top. One is behind the door latch handle. One adjacent to the side view mirror, and two along the bottom. There is an access panel along side the door latch handle you need to pop off with a screw driver. It is triangular in shape and about 5 inches long. Once that is removed you will see the door latch linkage to latch handle. Disconnect the linkage by unsnapping the plastic retainer off of the linkag rod and swing it so the rod can be lifted out of the hole. The window crank handle is a *****, you will need a dentist's pick or similar to remove a retaining clip just behind the handle but in front of the panel. The it is just an upward and outward movement on the panel and it should come right out.
this is from a 97 civic should be the same. remove the door panel. remove 1 screw and pull handle, remove 1 screw and plastic cover over door opener handle. remove speaker cover and three screws underneath. remover window crank. then remove the door panel (held on with plastic plugs...just pull panel toward youself).
to remove the regulator ("window crank gears") Remove the glass held in with two 10mm bolts. The regulator itself is held in with six 10mm bolts. Remove these bolts and remove the regulator. (installation is reverse). Note: pay attention to the Idler arm track (highlighted in green) I think this one is directional (the front has to be at the front and the back has to be at the rear)
you need to push in on door panel at same time in between the door panel and Handel their is a horse shoe clip you will need a "Mechanics DENTAL PICK! to pull it out to release the crank Handel! most part stores will carry that tool!
