In the owners manual it says its behind the instrument panel to the left of the steering column, but I still dont see it. I've located the 2 you mentioned and all fuses are good. I shorted the dome light wires together ( accident of course) and I lost all interior light and cigarette lighter power. What to look for next?

If it's where most silverado's have it, open driver door, on the side of the dash, there is a panel door, behind it are the fuses, there is another fuse block under the hood, a black box.

when the wires shorted, there is no doubt it's the fuse, just have to find it. try looking under dash where the manual says, then look down close to the floor, might be under floor mat close to the firewall.

I have a 2001 DHS Deville Cadillac I lost power for interior lights cigarette lighter power locks and trunk I've tested all fuses and all good how can I get this fixed?

It really sounds like it is your cigarette lighter fuse, but could possible be a problem with the BCM. If you double check the cigarette lighter fuse and find it to be good, getting power in and putting power out. You might end up at the dealership for a BCM module diagnostic.

It is in your fuse box.First locate your fuse box.If you have the car manual in the glove box it will show you exactly where it is, if not look in your fuse box it is usually a 10 or 5 amp fuse.the cigarette lighter is sometimes the same fuse as your dome light. But check the lower amp fuses first.

1996 Jimmy brake light fuse keeps blowing even when you open the door any suggestions?

CHECK YOUR CIGARETTE LIGHTER FOR FOREIGN OBJECTS, (COINS, PAPERCLIPS) MOST GMC OF THAT YEAR HAVE LIGHTERS THAT SHORT OUT. ALSO TRY DISCONNECTING THEM. DOME LAMPS, CIGARETTE LIGHTERS, VANITY MIRRORS, STOP LAMPS ARE ON THE SAME CIRCUIT. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

To test if the cig lighter works buy a 12volt test light at radio shack and test the center of the cig lighter to see if you get power there.if you don't then there is a blown fuse somewhere check the fuses in the engine compartment?
