Question about 2002 Nissan Maxima
That sounds like a smililar problem i had. If you pull the fuel line off of the fuel filter, gas should shoot across the parking lot. Not trickle out like a water fountain. My 99 maxima did the same thing and what I found the problem was, was that the fuel line on top of the fuel pump it's self inside the gas tank and blown off. Because nissan put a stupid squeeze clamp on it instead of a screw tight clamp. Pull your the top of your sending unit off and I guarentee you it's not connected to the fuel pump. What's happening it the engine is running off of suction from the gast tank which is why it's only comming out like a water fountain. reconnect the hose back to the fuel pump and put a screw clamp on it prime the system back up and it should start.
