Service Engine Soon light intermittently on and off, on a day or two then off a day or two, for the last 14 days. Fuel added 3 times. Gas Cap tightened with 20 clicks. 116,000 miles, runs great.

Disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes, then re-connect it. If that does not work, take it to the dealer. You may not have a problem other than the computer says it is time to turn it on. You may have noticed the same problem about 50-60K miles ago.

The engine light came on at 120,000 miles, but the van runs good

Sounds like it's time for the factory mileage service, wise to have your dealer check it over, that many miles could run you into some problems soon, be proactive and have it looked at.

Service Engine soon light stays on but car runs

Probably needs an oil change (if it already hasn't had one) and the light reset. If that doesn't help, take it and have a code scanner hooked up to it, to find out why the light is on.
If there is an autozone or advanced auto near you, go there, and tell them you have an engine light on and need to read the code.
They usually don't charge, other places do.

Service engine light is on in my 2004 Buick LaSabre

the service engine soon light means a fault has occurred in the engine or emission system's electronic controls, it has nothing to do with any service you did in most cases, there are over 150 problems that turn the light on, to find out what the problem may be go to any Kragen Auto or Autozone parts store and ask them to run a OBD 2 trouble code test, IT IS FREE. then post the code back here for us to look at, which is also FREE.

The service engine soon light indicates you have a problem with the engine management system. The only way to get it to stay off is to lacate and repair whatever is not working correctly. Requires very specialized equipment. Take it to your mechanic.
