it would be best to buy the harness adapters. they plug into the factory harness and will tell you what all the wires are. harness is usually only 10-15 dollars. here is the diagram also.7834529.gifa4b592f.gif

SOURCE: Trailer harness - Red wire has no power

Hi: under the hood in the power distribution box there is a 40 Amp fuse that has to be installed to power up the trailer package. When standing looking from the front left fender it should be at the front right corner, refer to the power distribution diagram on the cover. As well under the box by the spare tire is a plug in type module mounted on the frame. There should be 2 wire harnesses located there, make sure the correct plug in is connected. Hope this helps... please rate suggestion .... ty

Where is the ground wire of a 2005 chevy venture located?

Hi Tony:
All ground wires ultimately connect to the negative terminal of the battery.
If you look at the battery, the heary wire from the negative terminal will be connected to "ground", that being a bolt to the frame. (Often the alternator bracket)
The positive wires go to switches, solenoids, and fuse panels.
Power goes through those locations to various devices which are connected to "ground", thus completing the circuit.
There can be any number of ground wires since they are required at many locations to complete the curcuits.
Hope this helps.

2003 chevy venture problems

Yes the battery can be effected (drain) but in any kind of weather, unless you turn the radio off when you turn the engine off. The power wire in either application is connected directly to the battery as opposed to being connected to the ACC terminal which will be switched on and off with the ignition. You should connect the power wire (should be RED in color) from the radio plug to the terminal (marked "acc") on your fuse box located somewhere under your dash board. It sounds as though it's possible that the RED power wire and the YELLOW "Memory" wire have been switched, the power wire should be switched with the ignition and the Memory wire should be connected directly to a Battery terminal (marked as Batt also on the fuse box) or to the battery itself. All of these wires should be labeled with a small tab indicating there connection. Example Red wire marked (+ poss power), Black wire (- Neg Ground) Yellow wire (Memory) and usually 2 Green, 2Grey, 2 Blue, 2Purple as for the Speakers Poss. & Neg. respectively.

I have a 1990 Celica, trying to put in new radio. Got everything wired up correctly, Constant - blue/yellow, acc - gray, ground - brown and it won't come on. Radio fuse (top center 15 amp) is good,...

You have it right. Use a 12 volt test light to see if there is power between the gray and brown wires when the key is on. If there is power there, you may have got hold of a bad radio.

Radio never has worked since we bought it has passtime

The Passtime has no effect on the radio. All the Passtime does is inhibit the starter. You can take the Passtime out by cutting the blue wire and the purple wire (that come out of the Passtime box) now you will have a blue wire and a purple wire that go to the car. Strip the ends and connect the blue wire and the purple wire together. You can either disconnect or cut all the other wires that come out of the Passtime box. If you cut the wires make sure you tape the ends of the wires so that they don't touch any metal and short out, blowing a fuse.

As for the radio you might want to remove the radio to make sure that it is plugged in. I've seen alot of times when someone sells or trades in their car they take out their "COOL" stereo and since they cut the plug for the original radio off so they could wire in the "COOL" one, they just put the original one in the dash not plugged in. Hope this is helpful.

Please help: Connecting to the dashboard light

Do you own and know how to use a 12 volt test light? If so you will have to pull outthe instrument cluster and use the test light to determine which wire is the dash light feed. While you have the cluster out you should see some groung trees under there just gound your other wire there. Sometimes there is a light in the ashtray that is easier to get to that pulling the cluster. Just tap into that wire and you can use the cigar light ground wire for your ground. Go buy a pack of scotch locks and some wire and get to it. Also if you are a DIY you really need a test light.

Chevy Venture power windows- 2003

It is possible that it is the fuse but if so something caused the fuse to blow. It may be in the wiring which if you pull up the carpet by removing the door floor trim and lifting the carpet you will see the wiring underneath. Probably laying in water. Look for splices in the wiring which will have corroded. Repair the wiring then replace the fuse.
Another problem may be in the motors found inside the doors. The brushes may have worn out. If so you need to replace the motors. Unlikely that both motors failed at the same time though.
Usually the drivers door first since it is the most used.
