Question about 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer
I own a 93 S-10 blazer tahoe edition fully loaded! i bought it with a bad dash, got a used dash from a junk yard. Now that dash has the same problem! the fuel, volt, temp and the oil gauge do not work! 50/50 on hiting thr dash to get them to work! is there something i can do to fix this my self?
I have the same truck and bought my truck with a bad dash, only the speedometer worked. I got it rebuilt from a GM dealer (700.00) and everything was great for a year or so.....Then the speedometer stopped working. It worked and then it went blank for 5 min. or so came on for a minute and so on......I was angry to find out the warranty was expired. I looked on EBAY and found a used one for 30.00. Put it in and everything has worked great so far. that was 2 years ago. Its hit and miss at the scrapyard but its the only option. They only used the" vacuum florescent " instrument panel for 2 years ,92, 93.....PS .....If you find one that works a GM dealer can adjust the KMS so it matches the truck you are putting it in .... Free i believe .I hope this helps....Pgale89

I think your BCM which is the body control module has failed, have a self test run on it to see if it will give any codes, if it won't test then it is the problem.

SOURCE: instrument cluster blank
The digital display is controlled by a processor board, and yes the board goes bad, but fixing it, well I have tried many times with no sucess, I always in the end got a rebuilt cluster from GM.

Remove the 5 mounting screws from the instrument cluster trim plate and remove the trim plate. Remove the 4 mounting screws from the instrument panel face plate and remove the face plate.Remove the instrument light grid from the center of the cluster. From behind the instrument cluster reach behind the speedometer and disconnect the speedometer cable by releasing the tab. Pull the cluster forward just enough to detach the "check engine" light bulb from the center of the cluster. Remove the instrument cluster from the dashboard.

SOURCE: The gauges in my chevy
CARS AND TRUCKS HAVE SENDING UNITS AND SWITCHES SCREWED INTO AND MOUNTED ALL OVER THEM, IF THE WHOLE CONSOLE GOES DEAD ITS A BURNT FUSE OR THE PIGTAIL THAT PLUGS INTO BACK OF THE DISPLAY HAS COME LOOSE, CHECK FUSE HOLDER THEN IF ITS NOT A FUSE YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE DASH APART TO CHECK PIGTAIL ON CONSOLE.
