Question about Isuzu Trooper
Wish to know how to replace the cv shaft
Most front wheel drive cars are the same, remove large outer nut on axle/hub with air impact or breaker bar, disconnect tie rods ,ball joints, etc so half shaft can be pulled straight out, usually with a firm jerk or pry gently where axle enters carrier housing

SOURCE: CV joint replacement
Generally no tool is required. If you use a "pickle fork" you will risk damaging the dust boot.
Have you tried whacking the spindle right near where the ball joint stud comes through? This will take a few good shots to break it loose.
Be careful not to hit the threads!

SOURCE: CV Joint Axle Replacement
It's not an easy job, and a very messy one! If you have never done CV's before, I suggest you take it to a CV specialist, as they will do it quickly and cheaply in comparison to the hardship you will have to go through doing it yourself. These vehicles are common for the axles rusting into the hubs and siezing in there, and often the whole hub needs to be removed and the axle heated and pressed out. The new CV's often don't come with a tone wheel for the ABS system and you may need to swap the old tone wheel onto the new CV joint, and measure the alignment of it with the sensor when refitting.

SOURCE: Half shaft replacement....
There's no need to replace the entire shaft, inspect th CV joint, make sure it's still well greased and replace the torn boot, they make a quick replace boot, they are easy to install and alot cheaper.
