I got a 96 Chevrolet C1500. Can I put that transmission on a 4wd Tahoe same year? Would that work?

if its a 4l60e which it should be and the tahoe has same motor and is a 1500 series it will bolt up ------- but the tail shaft (output shaft) and drive shaft are different --the tail shaft of the transmission would have to be changed out to the 4wd version to tie in the transfer case for the 4wd system same with the drive dhaft would not be able to be used from the c1500 if the tahoe tailshaft is not damaged just switch it out to the other transmission and good to go

96 chevy tahoe 4x4 transfer and transmition problem

It sounds to me like your gearbox is knackered, but just to be sure get underneath & check all the linkages, get yourself a workshop manual as linkages are easy to fit even for a novice, solenoids are relatively inexpensive so if you don't feel like doing this yourself then try this route first.

How do i change the tail light on a 2004 tahoe

Open rear hatch. Remove two mounting screws at the side corner which mount the tail light assy to the body. The whole tail light assy can now be removed. Twist desired bulb holder counterclock wise to remove, then pull bulb to remove. Reinstall in reverse order.

96 dodge ram 2500 tail lights and instrument panel lights quit working at the same time all other lights work help please!!!

Check your tail light fuse, on the dodge ram the dash lights and tail lights use the same fuse so if the tail light fuse blows your dash lights will go out to alert you of no tail lights.

Is it true that in a 1996 chevy tahoe 4x4 u can't convert the transmission with another year model like the rest of the1997s. The dealer told me with the 96 4x4 has to be replace with another 96. but 97...

The key distinction of the Later 4L60-E (1997-2006) from the Early 4L60-E (1992-1997) or 4L60 (1990-1992) or 700R4 (1982-1989) is the six-bolt "hex" rear output or tail housing / adapter pattern. The previous versions featured a four-bolt square bolt pattern at the adapter or tail housing. This is where that made the small change and the 96/97 year was a change over year so you may have the newer housing or the older housing, but if your replacing the transfer case with the transmission your good to go, the electronics are the same. Just the body housing is different. Good luck and hope this helps. And why wold you want to convert the transmission, there are lots of easy simple up grades with out dropping the transmission or valve body.
