Try disconnecting the battery and joining the leads together and leave for 10 mins this always works for me on the cars in the long term airport parking

2003 Jaguar X type It won't start or crank and light on center console stays flashes ,what can I do to start MY car

your security system might be on.

1. check battery.
2. using your key lock and unlock your drivers door couple of times and then try starting your car.
3.if no luck then try starting it with your spare key.
if starts with spare, then you need a new chip in your main key.
good luck.

The remote of my nissan quest 2002 is not opening the door, does it use battery, is it changeable? pls assist me icant use the car without the remote

The remote may have a screw or not.If not, then use a butter knife to pry the case open and change the battery.(it will be a coin-type battery like a CR2016 or CR2032,but look at the existing battery).

X type 2003 my key will not work when using the push buttons tried changing battery but nothing happens only way is manualy then I have to get in the car and turn engine on to disarm the alarm

1.)I would recommended that you ensure all key fobs are fitted with new batteries. ( Click here to see battery replacement guide).
2.)Get in the car and close the drivers side door.
3.)Put the key into the ignition and turn to position I.
4.)Wait 5 seconds
5.)Turn the key quickly to position II then back to I four times.
6.)You should hear a single chime.
7.)Remove the Key
8.)For each Keyfob in rapid succesion. Press any single button on the keyfob you wish to pair, you should hear a chime as each Keyfob is paired with the security system. After the chime do the next Keyfob.
9.)Check operation of each Keyfob.

Car wont start

90% of no starts conditions are due to weak battery. Find out cold cranking amps (CCA) the vehicle needs , and purchase one with those specs and the same type of post( top or side) and approx physical condition as the old battery. Make sure battery terminals are clean and wires behind alternator are in good condition (no corrision).

My jaguar x-type 04, remote lock does not work, Tried both extra key and regular key. Have changed battery in the remote. When I use the regular key in the door, the car often sets of the alarm when I open...

I have a similar problem in my x type. Although if I press unlock button on the key first and then use the metalic key to unlock it dissables the alarm.

Also according to the manual if you unlock by the metalic key the car starts a beeping sound its I think 15-20 second timer within which you should put the key and start the ignition (don't need to start the engin) this will dissarm the alarm if not the alarm will go off in 15-20 second.

Hope this information is of any use, am trying to get hold of Jaguar dealers to fix this issue. If you come accross any solution please do let me know too

Fob will not work changed battries and still no luck

lost one of the key fobs to a 2007 mercury montego. dealer gave me a used one for free and instructed me to turn ignition key on and off 12 times but without starting the car. next, try key fob. worked for me. if you have 2 key fobs, you may have to reprogram both, so i would change batteries in the other one as well, but only after the non working one proves good.
