Question about 2001 Jeep Cherokee

2001 JEEP CHEROKEE FAILED INSPECTION.

THE INSPECTION PLACE COULD NOT COMMUNICATE WITH OBD II.
ANY SUGGESTIONS

    Went to Auto Zone and they were able to connect to computer. Went back to inspection place and they still could not communicate with OBD II.

If in the US, check with a local chain parts store such as Auto Zone, Kragens, Checker, etc. to ask if they will scan your system free of charge. This has become quite common and it will give you an idea as to whether the first scan was just wrong.

Turn you ignition switch to the on position ,does the CK ENG Lite appear, if yes this is a good indication. Your DLC (diagnostic link connector) should have battery voltage at pin 16 and ground at 4 and 5,If you can verify that your vehicle has this working order then its there problem and not yours

Parking brake failed inspection is there an adjustment


When you do get it fixed, use it or lose it. Not using your pkg brk will seize the linkage up.

Jeep cherokee stops accerating at 3000 rpms. once


Fuel pump or filter. I have the same problem with my 95 and am in the process of changing out the fuel pump. Already did the filter (not the problem). Hope this helps!

maybe i can help, the car has to be in a obd rhope this helpseadiness mode,thecar is probably not in this mode because it has not been driven enough or the(right way). you have do do a drive cycle to get the computer to go into obd readiness mode. also check pin #16 on obd connector tomake sure it has power. go to obd website for complete instructions on the DRIVE CYCLE it is rather long,

duse the howl go away when you trun a conner ?if it duse its a wheel bearn. as for the squeak its hard to pin point. try finding some one how duse mud run they would be ableto help you with the howl noise. have a nice day
