Fuse blows when put in reverse

Possibly an internal failure of the reverse switch. The blown fuse is for both the reverse and the turn signal lights. The fix is replacement of the reverse switch.

Why does the f1.9 fues blow when i shift into reverse in my 04 ford focus

You may have a faulty/shorted reverse light switch. The back-up lights come on when you put the shift lever in reverse. The shift lever linkage contacts this switch. My reverse lights wont turn off.

Hi Shawn, The reverse lights are grounded via the switch on the gearbox, meaning that the live feed is going to the reverse lights. When they were cut and the cables joined, it must have been grounded and ahs a constant ground connection now. take off the insulation from the cables which have been chopped and then disconnect and reconnect one at a time until you find the one which controls the reverse lights. Once identified, trace the cable through to the switch. You may find that a replacement switch is needed, which you may be able to find at a breakers yard. Regards John

Reverse lights not working, bulbs good

If the sockets are properly grounded, the next place you need to check is the neutral safety switch, located on the right side of the transmission.
With the connector clip up and the harness plug facing you, jump between the lower right and upper left contacts. If the reverse lights come on then remove the switch (directions in haynes and chilton).
The switch new is expensive so a scrapyard item is a good idea, or, if you are very careful (loose small contacts inside) you can usually take it apart and clean it up.
If the reverse lights flash on but go off as you move the shifter, you may be able to adjust the switch position, so check that first.

Reverse light doesn't light up every

The travel in the switch has probably increased in the time you have had the car. The switch- or shifting linkage directly related to the reverse light switch- may have some adjustment left. If not probably a new switch would fix it.

My reverse light stays on

It seems the reverse light switch which is fitted on the gear box has sized to 'on' position, the remedy is to replace the switch.
To male sure its the switch, locate it and remove the connection to the switch thn check it out if the reverse light stays 'on' whn you turn the igntion 'on'.

Reverse lights not working on Hyandai Accent GS

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced
