SOURCE: Yesterday we got gas and going down the road had

It seems theres some kind of fuel (gas) starvation to the carburator (or injectors if its a fuel injection).
If this has happenned after you fill her up with gas, thn probabely this gas filled is the culprit.
Best would be to drop all of the gas and check , and also check the fuel pump and the fuel filter.

You need to isolate the problem. If it starts when you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking then problem is in fuel system.(pump, pump relay, filter or fuse) If not, then look into ignition system. Use any manual to get specific testing instructions and do not buy anything till you verify by testing that you really need that part or it can get unnecessarily expensive.
If you need more info on anything, just ask, but at the point you are at, careful testing will tell you far more than anyone here can tell you.

It souds like the same problem i had a few months ago, have your timing belt checked, i am most certainly sure that it is the belt, usualy the belt breaks, or slips off the pulley.......hope this is helpful.

My stabilitrak light started going on. I replaced the battery. Today while driving my battery went from 14.6 volts down to 12.5 and then back up. What is going on?


stabilitrac is from balljoints prob on tire rods of sway bar and altonator runs at 14v and batt runs 12. for it to be dropping to 12 you need to run to auto zone n they can check your alt. or while its runnind take your batt post off batt n if it keeps running your alt is good and if it dies out rite away alt has to be changed

replace your altenator . the brushings are most likely bad and only making contact after you strick the alt. housing. it makes the brushing drop down to the armature.

I would have everything tested first. Thats usually free at most auto part stores. It does sound like your alternator is starting to fail or possibly your battery.

I have a 2000 chry town and country the batt light came on the other day ignored it. now tonight when driving it the whole car shut down got a jump then it died again down the road. i jumped car agian...


wow if your battery is that old i would get a different one but you can have the battery and alternator tested for free at a auto parts store they can tell you if its junk or not but thats why your having them problems when your alternater spins it charges the battery if the battery is no good it wont hold a charge and you car will die now it the alternater is bad it will not keep the battery charged and your car will die.

The car died lights went dim then engine cut out with the key on there is no batt light on the dash. I unpluged the 2 wire conector at the alt and started the car after I charged the batt. still no batt...


sounds like you either have a loose wire that is preventing the alternator from charging the battery and keeping you going or the alternator has a bad diode. Take it to an auto parts store and have them test both battery and alt while the car is running.

It sounds like you have a charging problem-alternator is not recharging batt when drive, batt will only go so far before it runs out then you get your symtoms. you would need a volt meter to double check this. Fully charged batt will be about 12.7volts once car is started and running you should see about 13.8 to 14.2 volts at batt terminals if alt. is chariging batt. the other item that can cause this is the volatge regulator that controls alt. which are sometimes built-in alternator and sometimes they are external to alternator. and of course make sure your belt is turning alternator to allow it to work. One other small note if you do the engine running test-somtimes- if your car idles low(600 or 700 rpm) you need to give a little throttle (1000-1200rpm) to make sure alternator is turning fast enough for output test.

Low or bad voltage i replaced the alt and batt is good dash gauges are not working check engine light was on before the issue and dont come on now.will run if i jump the batt but then just drains.not...


are you sure the alt. is good 
how long does it take to drain down
have the alt rechecked by auto store they do it for free 
does it die even if its running meaning you are just using the life of the battery then it dies then its your alt.

My car cut off while i was driving....i have a new ignition coil, new battery, new rack and pinion and a new radiator


that is a simple fix to the problem you are having, even though you have a new batt. and ing. coil, the problem your having is your altenator, it is commen for them to go out over time, that is why your car died or cut off as you said while you were driving, if your ALT. goes out your car will start and act normal until your batt. is drained out then your car will die while driving, if theres no power to your computer on your car it wont run basicly like a hard shut down, but of your car....hope this helps
