SOURCE: I need a spring that holes brushes in on a gew 9000 winch motor thanks

most winch motors are basic starter motors. Take the remaining spring along to an auto electrician to see if it can be identified.
Contact the winch manufacturer to see if they have a parts catalogue for the motor.

How can I install an 8000 lb 5.5 hp winch and install front to back wiring rated for at least 360 amps?

There must be endless info about this online or youtube or any of the offroad sites.
Make sure you mount a good cut out switch between the battery and winch you can access in a hurry to save your truck. A big fuse is usually available from the winch co rated for that winch. If it all goes wrong you can isolate the winch. Cable is going to be stick welding cable size to get good power. Be careful how you route it. Its a big winch, use a professional mounting kit and good quality fasteners.

if you can use the winch manually by pressing buttons on the winch then the problem will be in either the remote unit(Battery in back to front) or the receiver in the winch

Tmax winch no power

The winch has electric solenoids to control the motor. Most of the time when these things quit working, it is either because the solenoid has failed or the wire connections to the solenoids has come loose.

Electric winow on passenger side works intermittently going up. there is12v at the motor when switch is pressed 'down'.

12 volt dc motors use brushes and commutators. One or both of your brushes may be making intermittent contact with the commutator bars, or your commutator bars may be bridged with carbon buildup from the brushes wearing down. To check brushes remove the slotted round caps and check them. Look inside the hole after you pull the brushes out. You will see parallel bars of copper. the spaces between all of them should be clear of carbon and debris. the coppers should be shiny.

Batteries check out o.k., but insufficient power for wheel chair lift. Can I increase the charging rate to 14 volts?

If the wheelchair lift operated fine in the first place the motor will have to be removed and bench tested. It seems the armature needs to be cleaned and the commutator machined as well to gain back its full RPM's to perform as new again. Dirt builds up slowing these electric motors down just like when the starter for the engine gets old. Clean contacts and brushes are the key for top performance

1994 Silverado heater blower does not start when switched on. Give it a whack and it works at all speeds. Blower motor or relay?

Disconnect the wire leads from the blower motor and check for 12 volts. If there is 12 volts, then the blower motor electric brushes are worn and the unit will need to be replace. If there is no Voltage, then your have a switch or relay issue that needs to be addressed.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya
