I meant to say ( crank case isn't venting)

  • Richard Delahant May 11, 2010

maybe you should check the pcv valve (positive crankcase ventilation) if it's clogged the crankcase is venting.

Because the crank case is building up pressure and blowing
your oil out, have your crank case pcv valve checked.

Watt is a cpv valve on aford f250 engine

PCV - positive crankcase ventilation.

one way passage for gases to escape in a controlled manner from the crankcase of an internal combustion engine.
This is necessary because internal combustion inevitably involves a small but continual amount of blow-by, which occurs when some of the gases from the combustion leak past the piston rings (that is, blow by them) to end up inside the crankcase, causing pressure to build up in the crank case. For control of the pressure inside it, a PCV is used to vent the crank case

Hope this is helpful :-)

Can a blocked pcv cause a oil leak

The upper part of your engine is like a compressor. The lower part is similar, but not to the same degree because there is a lot of room in the lower part of the engine which keep the pressures much lower. Yes, a blocked PCV valve can cause excessive crankcase pressures to build up which can cause oil to leak out of oil seals which are worn and weak. In some cases it can even cause oil leaks on low mileage engines which have no means of venting the crank case pressures. I hope this has helped you. Usually I don't run into too many stopped up PCV valves, just restricted ones and ones which won't close when they are suppose to.Good luck

Engine pressure

Well change the PCV valves they most of the time in the valve covers. If they are clogged up yes pressure will build up in the crank case.

Sometime car barely starts runs rough till rpm's build up

Check everywhere for air leaks. If it has a carburettor start the car and spray butane gas around it, if the revs increase then you have a leak somewhere as it is sucking in this extra fuel.

To much crank case presure blowin out dipstick and putting oil ever where

That much pressure would indicate a blown head gasket putting pressure from the combustion chamber into the oil gallery.....
