If the back seat will fold down, you can crawl in and pull the emergency release cable...Should be a Yellow T handle....Spray some PB Baster on the latch after you get it open
If the rear seats fold down crawl in and pull the emergency release cable. If the seats do not fold down the fold the arm rest down and see if there is a trunk access window there. If there is you can use a long rod to pull the emergency release cable.
To fold-down rear seat on 2007 Chevy Malibu, follow these steps:
1. Open the trunk
2. Pull on one or both the handles located on the upper side of the trunk
3. The handle located on the driver's side will unlatch the bigger part of the read seat
4. The handle on the passenger side will fold down the smaller portion of the rear seat.
5. Once done, you will have a seat that's nicely folded down.

The rear seat backs do not fold down in these trucks, the seat bottom lifts up to gain access to the compartments below but the seat back does not fold down. The only thing you can do is physically remove the rear seats.
They have a problem with the seatbelt retractor getting jammed up causing the belt to jam & not let the rear seat fold back up.The easiest way to get the seat back up is to cut the seatbelt & fold up the seat.Then the rear seat needs to be disassembled to gain access to the seatbelt retractor assy which has the seat belt made on.Hopefully it's still under warranty or Ext. warranty.hope this helps
get your dealer to replace the seat belt, depending on age, should be under warranty. Belt is defective. I have a g 2003 vue, and my dealer replaced the belt for no charge.
