Question about Cars & Trucks
I removed the steering wheel to fix some wiring and now I can't get the steering wheel back on. It's a non tilt.
Some steering shafts have a master spline ( 2 splines as one) as a way of fitting the wheel in the correct position. You will need to check this out and align the raised bit with the bit missing and there shpuld be no problem

This plate is the steering lock plate. It has a lock ring on the shaft but is under very heavy spring pressure which must be compressed in order to remove and re-install. There is a special tool that compresses this spring. It mounts on the steering shaft threads and pushes on the plate. It is quite difficult without but can be done with two persons as one presses and the other removes the lock ring...good luck
