Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 2008 dodge nitro slt 3.7 v6. i just bought it in july of 2012. Tonight i started my car in the walmart parking lot three times is has having a had time starting. at first it sopunded like a possible issue with the starter but, then there was no drain on the battery. after the thirs attempt to start my car it satrted with no problem. it did it again after i washed my car at the car wash when i was leaving. is it possible that i may have gotten bad gasoline at the Murphy's gas station? it has done this same exact thing about three months ago and ran fine after and has been running fine until this time it did it again. but it is running just fine again.is it possibly bad gas? thank you for all the help you can give.

My car has an after market warranty not a,dealer warranty. The deuctible is $200 no matter what is done. So I am trying to reaearch a potential solution without the need to do so.

it is not an issdue of the coil ignitors either cause it would be happening more often it has only happened twice a few montw ago and today. it cannot be the module cause the same issue would be the same it would have to happen more often and it does not. i is not misfiring either. it is not a starter issue. nor a battery issue cause the battery would be dying and it is not. doe sany one here have an solution.

no your solution does not help, it is not an issue of warranty. as i do not have a dealer warranty. i have an after market warranty and i would like an real expert opinion on this issue not a half baked idea statement that anyone could have come up with. that solution is not an expert solution.

SOURCE: 87 f250 drained brand new battery

I would first have the alternator checked by an auto electrician to ensure it is working correctly and is providing the correct volume of current. It may be faulty and when driving you will be drawing battery power instead of power from the alternator to run the electrics. This will drain the battery.

Alternators do not last forever and if you are still running the original unit it is likely to be on it's last legs and you will need a replacement unit.

Will the shifter move out of park? If not the cable or linkage is stuck. If shifter moves but car doesn't and engine revs. Transmission is slipping and needs repair. If possible have scanned and get code

How can I locate my spark plugs on my 2008 dodge nitro?

The spark plugs are under the coil packs. Remove the screw and pull up on the coil pack you will find the spark plugs there. On a v-6 engine there will be six coil packs three to a side. Just be careful removing the coil pack pull straight up as there is a long plastic plug under it that is the coil wire. Its is better to be safe then sorry just take your time you will be fine.

2008 dodge nitro change oil light how to turn off had oil changed did not go out

Directions are in the book, but you would put the key in and turn it all the way, just don't start engine. Pump gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times slowly, but it has to be with 10 seconds. Turn key off and when you start again, oil changed chime and warning should not be on. If it is, try again.

Where is the oil filter on a 2007 dodge nitro v6

You can access the oil filter easily from underneath next to the front, driver-side wheel at the front of the engine. There is clear access to the filter there.
