Question about Cars & Trucks
Is there something down inside the path of the filler tube of the fuel tank (such as a screen) preventing me from being able to run a siphon hose down to the tank. I need to empty the tank before taking it in to have the fuel pump & filter replaced.

SOURCE: Can't get gas in my fuel tank
yes. if you look under the car theres a metal tube that the gas cap goes on then it turns to a rubber hose were it connects to tank, wake sure the hose is not kinked or metal tube is not crushed, good luck ,start there.

SOURCE: I need to siphon the
as you are pushing the hose in the tank twist the hose so it rolls over and it should go in, the hose will probably need to be three feet long, you may have to go to lowes or home depot and get a longer hose that will also fit the siphon pump

Take off the gas line under hood use a small inline electric fuel pump to pump fuel out just don't be in a hurry it takes a while. You may also force air into tank and push out fuel but getting a tight enough fit at filler hole can be a problem.

Not sure if you can get at it but..
Look at the tank where the fill hose comes in and see if
you can loosen the clamp and remove the filler tubeit would be easy to siphon from there.
I would also change the fuel filter.
The fan clutch,,if you grab it by a blade and spin it ,it shouldn't
go around more than a 1 turn or less. If it spins any more it is bad.
If you can't get at the filler neck, since it's fuel injected you could pump the fuel out at the filter connection.. Have to jump the relay tho.
