Who the heck are you to tell me I don't know. I am an electronis tech and have been for 20 years. I simply thought I would ask the experts for help. I do have wiring diagrams and will fix it myself thanks for being rude and self absorbed.

Some GM products also incorporate the oil sender switch into that circuit for fuel pump, so that in case of an accident, engine shuts off, oil pressure drops, in turn, shuts off power to fuel pump. May be worth a look at what your getting for oil pressure, as well as checking switch/sender.

SOURCE: Fuel pump fuse location on an 88 Chevy K1500?

Good evening Michael.
The fuse you are looking for is behind the plastic cover on the firewall on the right side. It may be a little disguised in a fuse holder. It is very near the battery junction box pins and fuse links. It's a 10 amp fuse and it supplies power to the relay for the fuel pump.
Hope this cures your problem.

For all you don't know, you will need a wiring diagram
before you attempt to diagnose any electrical issues

You have no idea what is in any system or where to start

No wiring diagrams you run the risk of damaging things &
are wasting your time & you are learning nothing

What you learn is the key ,even if you never fix a single car

1997 chevy k1500 won,t start cold starting fluid will start truck

I would check the fuel pump relay first. You should have some fuel pressure in the lines when you turn the key on. The relay is powered for 3 seconds to boost pressure until the engine starts.
The relay may not be working or the check valve in the pump may be letting fuel back into the tank which would cause the pressure to drop to zero when the engine is off. You should have at least 15psi with a TBI system and 35psi with MFI.

How do you check to see if fuel pump is bad on a 1988 ramcharger 5.2lter t.b.I. without having to physically taking it out of tank?

Hot wire it! Set a battery by rear of car and run jumper wires to the fuel pump connector.. Instant gratification !
You could almost do the same thing at the fuel pump relay with one short jumper wire: pull the relay out and jump the battery power feed there across to the fuel pump wire. Turn key on and pump should run. Be careful, make sure you do have a single hot line at the relay with key on, and don't put the jumper wire in the wrong slot, or there won't be anything left to play with. You'd have to know which terminal was the fuel pump wire leaving there and going to the pump.
Well, there are a couple of shadetree solutions, worked for me. I assumed from your post that you probably don't have a voltmeter, which if true, is only bad if you want to do any work on your truck yourself. 'Cuz taking the tank off is a thankless, dirty job, and a voltmeter could have saved the trouble by testing for power at the fuel pump connector when the engine was being cranked over. If the wire has power, only then would you know the pump has to be taken out. Good luck.

Has to be diagnosed using wiring diagrams & other
reference material, you won't have access to.

Fuel pump won't run unless engine is cranking, but won't start

Are you sure it's running when cranking? It should have come on when key turned on.
This is for camrys up to year '91. It may apply in your '95, also. Check the 7.5 amp ignition fuse and the 15 amp EFI fuse and the EFI main relay, all located in the fuse box next to your battery. There is also the circuit opening relay tied in to fuel pump operation. It is usually found under center of dash. It is usually not the problem, but it is part of the checks for fuel pump operation.
If your car has a " check connector" or "service connector" (also called a fuel pump check connector) under hood on driver's side near the firewall (a little 1 inch cube with a cap on it), then bridge terminals +B and Fp with a jumper wire. Turn key to on (don't start car). The pump should come on. Listen for fuel return noise from the fuel pressure regulator, and verify pressure in hose from the fuel filter. If nothing, check those fuses above. Here is how power runs to pump: Battery to 40 amp main fusible link-to 15 amp EFI fuse-to EFI main relay-to circuit opening relay-to fuel pump-to ground. Ignition switch and the computer (ECU) work the relays to pass power to pump. Hope this helps some, Randy. Good luck.

I have replaced my fuel pump and fuel pump relay and the car(1988 Lincoln Town Car) ran fine for two months. Now it will not start. The fuel pump relay has 4.6 volts when the ignition is on, it is not...

Have to look at a wiring diagram to figure that out

At least I would.

Does the relay energize in your hand,
with batt & grd on coil & ohm meter on
it's contacts, to see if their burnt?

e.g. do you need 12 + volt for it to work

Your looking for a voltage drop ---maybe

Don't rule out the ignition switch it gets a lot of use

Fuel pump relay & fuze location for 1994 chevy 51500 pick up

if you really have a carburetor as you say, you have a mechanical fuel pump so you will not have a fuel pump relay. if you have fuel injection then you do have a fuel pump relay, need to know which engine it is to help more.
