I started having similar issues. The read out on the computer came back with gas too lean on bank one which is the the first sensor on your exhaust (oxygen sensor O2). I looked for broken hoses and I found one that was cracked I cleaned it with brake cleaner and a rag and used electrical tape to close the crack and stop the sucking of air. i then disconnected the ground terminal from the battery for about ten seconds (to reset the computer) and connected it back. I took a 315 mile trip and to my surprise it took one and one half quart of a tank of gas. Before I fixed the problem it was giving me one half of a tank plus half of another quater of a tank. I am going on 390 miles and it shows half a tank right now. I hope this will help you.

A clogged fuel filter can do it and a vehicle in need of a tune up. A vacuum leak in the engine or airways could cause shaking. You could have a bad fuel injector. If it has been awhile since you have had a tuneup, I would get one done. If you have, maybe change the filter. May need to check all your fluids also.

engine shaking could be severe engine misfire due to faulty spark plugs or wires.could have faulty ignition coil.other possibles causes could have clogged fuel filter, clogged fuel injectors, fuel pump could be failing check fuel pressure should be 48 psi.

Car won't start when turned over unless the pedal is feathered

A sticky fuel pressure regulator could cause line pressure drop on hot start. I'd try a good fuel system cleaner like BG's 44K before replacing any part$ tho.

Starving for fuel sometimes I changed the fuel filter but problem persists. I'm thinking it may be a vacuum problem to the fuel tank. Thoughts? Russ

well there can be a few things that cause this
first off if this was in my shop I would check the fuel regulator this allows fuel back into the tank from the fuel rail so that you dont over pressure the fuel rail, if it is leaking past then this will starve the engine for fuel, also note that if your EVAP system onthe fuel tank is not working proporly the check engine light will come on there are sensors in place to worn you of a problem there and this will not starve your engine for fuel, if its not the regulator then its a fuel pump, only way to tell is to put a fuel pressure gage on the rail and drive the vehicle till it acts up and see what the pressure rating is at most newer vahicles require arround 50 plus PSI if below that you have a pressure problem and need ot possibly replace regulator on the fuel rail... if you need more help just replay ill check in later

sounds fuel related if you have not changed the fuel filter do this first, then check to fuel pump and pressure at fuel rail.and air cleaner also

Engine running real rough

sounds like a bad plug or plugged fuel injector. Try using an additive by Chevron, called Tectron. I have had similar issue and just replaced plugs and added Tectron it seem to resolve the issue. In addition, it could be plug wires too, so you may want to start with the additive, move to the wires and then the plugs. Good Luck
