Conversion from 1100 to 1300

I was just wondering. I have a 1986 golf with an 1100 motor, i want to convert it to 1300, how intricate would that be and what other parts would i have to change other than the engine and the gear-box.

I think the 1100 also has the exhaust manifold in front of the engine if i'm not mistaken, so you'll have to replace that as well. your cv's might be different. everything else should be the same. good luck.

HEY THERE. MY 1986 GOLF 2 GTI DRIVES FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND SUDDENLY STARTS MISFIRING AND THEN CUTS OUT.AFTER THAT IT WILL START WITH DIFFICULTY AND NOT REV UP...PLEASE HELP ME AS I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL...

Did you check timing 6*btdc? Could be bad fuel distributor. Misfire is either a problem with fuel delivery or ignition (spark). If you can't find or fix the problem you'll ruin your catalytic converter.

Does anyone know where the motor for the convertible top is located on a 01 pontiac firebird?

its actually a very intricate system of motors and support arms i wouldnt try to do it yourself. pontiacs are notorious for having problems with those type of motors like windows, headlights, and convertable tops. as a matter of fact i had a pontiac sunfire with the same problem i just got the convertable top up and left it that way cause it got stuck half way up once so stop using it till you get it fixed or you might have a permanent convertable.
