Changed the alternator runs fine until you turn on the blower motor then volts go down and wants to die

The throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and allowing air to enter, making the air/fuel mixture lean. Make sure to clean the front and back sides of the throttle body. Also, disconnect the battery during the cleaning process to allow the computer to reset and relearn to the cleaned throttle body.

SOURCE: blower motor wont shut off

Check your blower resister in duct right in from of motor. These tend to burn out and short every once in a while

Hyundai Engine dies when A/C-heater blower is switched on. Is it the resister motor?

i would think it might have more to do with the alternator charge rate ,as the A/C use a lot of engine power so the other components get reduced power from the engine ,so the alternator raises the power to the battery and so to the other electrical components,if the charge rate is low the engine can die ,does it start ok when A/C is turned off ?

Blower motor slows down when i accelerate

I have a thought you may try testing your battery voltage with the car turned off .It should read 12 volts or higher if not charge battery than check again if battery is lower than 12 volts after charging replace battery.If 12 volts or higher start engine check voltage on battery again it should be 13 volts to 14.5 volts not higher if voltage readings are lower than 13 volts or higher than 14.5 volts replace alternator.

Yes it sounds like the alternator voltage regulator is wearing down and needs to be changed or replaced.

If you can get your hands on a 12 volt multimeter, turn the setting to 20 dc and place the negative wire on the negative battery post and the positive wire on the positive battery post.

The battery with motor off should be 12.6 volts and higher, start the the car the read out should be 14.,2 or higher.

You can turn the lights and heater on to see if the alternator can cope with the load.

if read out is less then you need to change or replace it.

Sounds like your alternator is doing nothing-the car is running only off the battery. Have your charging system checked-does your battery light stay lit? If that bulb is burnt out, that may be why the charging system is not working. On some charging systems, that bulb is crucial for the alternator to work.
Engine off, a fully charged battery should measure 12.5 volts with a voltmeter. Engine idling, and the voltmeter at the same battery should be showing about 13.5 volts. This tells you the charging system is working.

New battery. abs, battery and service engine lights come on. all headlights and tails flicker and car dies and wont start. jump it let it warm up and doesnt do it for awhile. then at some point it does it...

These are all signs of a bad alternator. The car is running off of only the battery. The alternator charges the battery and keeps the car running. When the alternator quits charging the car will run fine until the battery dies. Then you can jump the battery and charge it, and the car will run fine until all of the electronics and lights run the battery down again.

When the car is jumped it runs with the cables on all gauge everything works fine once you take the cables off the car idles fine untill you press the gas, then dies out<<

The alternator is not generating enough current to the coil to maintain the spark. This could be a bad coil or a bad alternator or BOTH. When you are connected with cables the extra voltage required as you accellerate the gas pedal is pulled from the DONOR car battery and motor. When running at idle your car DISCONNECTED there is not much demand for power. As you press on the gas the RPM increases requiring more spark than you car can produce and it cant recover... trying to keep up drains what charge there is from being jumped off and the car dies. The fact that it dies leads me to believe the alternator should be your first troubleshooting area... You can test this with a multimeter. You should get 14+ volts coming out of the back of the alternator. The car requires 12 volts to run the engine and the extra volts are put back into the battery as a charge...less than 12 volts is a sign of a bad alternator and can cause your problem.

1994 Suzuki Samurai dies when you turn the lights on

Get a volt meter and check the voltage on the battery should be around 12 to 12.5 volts.start the Samurai with it running, should be between 13.6 and 14 volts. Then while you are watching the volt meter have someone start turning on lights and accessories. If the voltage begins to drop down when it hits between 9.6 and 10.2. It will shut down the cpu and the engine will die. If this is what is happening the alternator is not keeping up, and needs the belt tightened or alternator replaced. I don't think it is the battery because you can restart the vehicle after turning off all the accessories. Mike
