Check ECM (engine computer) located under glove box. Injector circuit output probably dead. Replace ECM. Go to Searchparts.com for best price.

SOURCE: White Smoke From Tail Pipe/Exhaust

It often means that you are burning antifreeze. You asked if it needs antifreeze, have you noticed any leaking out of the reservoir tank while you are running it? Sometimes when the head gasket goes it will produce a passage for the antifreeze to pass from the capillaries into the combustion chamber. It is easy to check if you have an air compressor. Remove one of the rear sparkplugs and the radiator cap. Fill the radiator and then push some air into the sparkplug hole (get a good seal in case a valve is open). Repeat with all the cylinders and watch for air bubbles coming up into the radiator. If bubbles come up or fluid is pumped out, the head gasket is blown and must be replaced. It is more likely to happen at the back of the engine because it is farthest away from the fan and therefore gets less cooling. Also check your oil for discoloration. If it is a brownish color it could mean your oil and antifreeze are mixing and has the potential to damage your bearings

SOURCE: 87 samurai bolt torque specs for engine

The haynes book is not recommended since there are numerous mistakes and they still will not update. One of the biggest is the firing order.

The factory service manual is the only way to go.

Head bolts - 46 - 50.5 lbs (there is an order sequence for the bolts)

Intake & exhuast manifolds- 13.5 - 20 lbs

Flywheel - 41.5 - 47 lbs

Clutch cover - 13.5 - 20 lbs

SOURCE: White smoke coming out of the exhaust when starting the engine?

Its the problem of oil.The oil is getting burned out. The vehicle is either burning oil or it is moisture in the gas chamber if you notice white smoke from the exhaust. This is a common possibility.but in some cases this white smoke is not due to oil burning. In that case   White smoke from the exhaust is a symptom of coolant entering the combustion chamber. Normally this is a sign of a blown head gasket or cracked head. And  this is not a common problem must be repaired immediately. You must STOP driving this vehicle or you will cause serious engine damage. you will have to get both this possibilities checked.
Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Why is my 88 suzuki samurai is blowing oil out of exhaust

Your compression is low, the rings in the piston engine are worn out , you will need an engine overhaul , probably you have low power also .And blue smoke to boot ..

Suzuki samurai wont stay running at idle why? will run if kept throttling

Sounds like you have a air flow problem not real familiar with the suzuki but it may have a air flow adjustment or either a set screw for idle control to maby idle it up just a little.

I have a 1987 suzuki samurai and have white smoke coming from exhaust looked on dipstik and see no signs of antifreeze was told that it could be the timing belt cover leaking that doesent make sense to me...

Are you losing coolant? If so then you could have a cracked head on the exhaust side and it is leaking coolant into the exhaust and being burnt.

White smoke coming from exhaust

White smoke is caused by water and or antifreeze entering the cylinder, and the engine trying to burn it with the fuel. The white smoke is steam. There are special gaskets (head gaskets are the primary gaskets) that keep the antifreeze from entering the cylinder area. The cylinder is where the fuel and air mixture are being compressed and burned. Any amount of antifreeze that enters this area will produce a white steam that will be present at the tailpipe area.

If white smoke is present, check to see if the proper amount of antifreeze is inside the radiator and the overflow bottle. Also check to see if antifreeze has contaminated the engine oil. You can look at the engine oil dipstick, or look at the under side of the engine oil filler cap. If the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, it will have the appearance of a chocolate milkshake. Do not start the engine if the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, as serious internal engine damage can result.

How did antifreeze get in the oil or cylinder in the first place? The engine probably overheated and a head gasket failed due to excessive heat, thus allowing antifreeze to enter the cylinder (Where it is not meant to be).

Hope helps with this (remember rated this help) Good luck..

Suzuki Vitara V6, MAF sensor, white smoke.

Hi:
My first thoughts are that you have a head gasket or intake manifold gasket failure. This is why you have the white smoke. If you run it too long, your catalytic converter will be destroyed. Check for coolant in your oil too.

Smoking

White smoke indicates a coolant leak. Your gaskets may be blown, which allows antifreeze to seep into your combustion chamber. You need to check your oil, which will turn white/watery when its mixed with antifreeze. Another problem is that you may have a cracked head. Usually this is a more expensive, but any good mechanic could check this out for you. Good luck.22
