SOURCE: Heater/AC control no longer allows change in temperature

You have one of two possible problems.

1) The temperature shaft retention nut is loose behind the knob

2.) The wires to the potentiometer part of the temperature may be broken.

Either one is common to this vehicle. The replacement of the AC controller is about 900 dollars. If the wires are broken, they can easily be reattached to the circuit board via soldering. What you would have to do is remove the control box from the dash, and disassemble it. Once the unit is apart, there are 3 wires from the temp knob to the circuit board that need to be re-soldered. The unit CAN be repaired, as opposed to the expense of replacing it.

SOURCE: headlight went out in 2003 ford escape i have

you have to remove the whole headlight assembly, then pop off the front cover pull the old bulb out and put the new one in. reverse the process to re-install. there is a small plastic tab on the topfront of the headlight assembly, that is what you need to release to get the clear cover off and get inside.

Why doesnt control f150 ford turn from heat to ac on f150 ?

It is possible that your control head is not working properly. The center knob( temperature control ) may be positioning the temperature door to full heat. If you have all of the directional flows and the off position, this is probably the problem. You can remove the control head easily by removing the cover plate by pulling outward evenly at the control face. This will reveal 4 screws that hold the control in place. Remove screws and pull slightly out on the control head(do not pull out far as you could damage electrical connections and/ or vacuum connection. Temperature switch is held on by a single screw on the back of the control. remove screw, turn counter clockwise and pull control from the knob that is now holding the switch in place. Replace switch and assemble back into the dash, locate flat on the knob and the switch, align and press into place.

If you are in the South east Michigan area I will be glad to assist.

2003 mitsubishi climate control stuck

Follow the cable.. It's the white piece that the cable connects to. Some kind of spring doesnt push the white piece forward far enough to select a hot temperature. You can adjust it yourself from the driver's seat at a red light. It feels like flat lever against the dash/transmission tunnel. Push forward for heat, pull back for AC. There's a spring busted or something and the knob can't overcome the required force... Just manipulate it manually. You can see the white lever mechanism clear as day if you open the driver's door, crouch down and look for the big white piece. My guess is that it has a internal tensioner or spring that crapped out.

The temperature control does not change when the fan is turned up. if i want to change the temperature from hot to cold, i have to turn down the fan, listen for the switch in the dash and then turn the...

I can tell you about my experience on my 1999 F150. I do not believe it is the blower control switch because mine went out and only affected the fan speed. On my truck, in an incident like yours, I could not get a good response from the temperature switch.

I would turn the control and it would hit a stop on both ends, but the temperature would not change to match the switch. What I found is the stem of the temperature control did not turn because the knob cracked behind the switch. There is a half-moon shaped metal clip inside the plastic temperature knob. The clip can spin when the knob is cracked and nothing moves right.

Because the plastic knob has molded stops under the knob, from the drivers point of view, the knob was turning lock to lock. In reality, the stem was not turning. Try taking the knob off and turning the stem with pliers wrapped in cloth to protect the plastic. Then see if the temperature changes.

Heater temp control does not open heater door

Your temperature control cable, knob or blend door actuator is (are) defective. Lower the glove by pulling the side tabs in and allowing it to hang down. Now you will have access to determine if your temperature control is defective or your blend door is not opening properly.

Your heater core may be corroded to the point where no heat gets from the antifreeze to the metal. New core indicated. Or have the dealer check and see if the door set by the temperature knob is stuck open.

The knob on the heater control is loose and I can't adjust the temperature. Will replacing the knob work or do I have to bring the car to the service department for it to be fixed?

You can try a Salvage yard or just order the knob at a Dealer. I went through the same thing with my 1999. If you look behind the knob you will probably see a crack where the metal clip sits.

My Salvage yards do not want to sell the Knob separate from the whole control unit. Yours may. It will be available at a Dealer and with Patience you can replace it yourself. You will see an irregular clear plastic shape behind the knob and that is all that needs lining up.
