Sure could. A good choice is going to a trustworthy Muffler shop. They have a test that can tell you how good they are. Their Converters are less than Dodges.

Hello, do you have any idea why my 2008 Nissan Serena is losing power when going over hills? I have already changed a bunch of stuff like plugs, transmission oil, gas filter and pump but the problem still...

If you cannot quickly accelerate, might be catalytic converter, oxygen sensors, mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Might even be EGR valve. Have trouble codes read at the auto parts store for free and update y ok ur post for me gelp.

I have buick 2003 century 3.1L it started running weird and losing power up hills and seemed like it wouldnt shift right and had poor gas mileage. The check engine light came on once briefly. Scanned it...

Check EGR valve to make sure their isn't a piece of carbon stuck under valve seat. Also you need to check exhaust back pressure to make sure you don't have a converter pluged.

05 caravan is it a p4044 code

the code p 4044 refers to exhaust gas recirculation range /performance--reading above or below the specified range
could be a problem valve or solenoid or wiring
the remark about the cat converter is valid as it indicates that when under load the cat converter is blocking the exhaust
this occurs when the honeycomb internals cracks and the bits block the exhaust exit under high gas flows ( from your use description)
you can get replacement cat converters that use flange fittings and they are therefore cheaper when needing replacing
cat converters crack when running hot and are then immersed in extreme cold ( snow , running ice water)when driving

Do you have any check engine lights etc on dash?
Have you checked for stored codes?

1-Bad --Ignition Coil
2-Bad--Egr Valve.
3-Bad--TPS Sensor
3--Fuel Filter Clogged
4--Worn out and Clogged Converter

Check out those possibilities, one at a time.

When hot seems like it lacks power and a miss .. when going down hills and level ground runs fine. long hills and gets warm seems almost like it misses

fuel pump may be going bad have pressure tested on vehicle when warm also egr valve may be going bad or has bad carbon build up lack of power a miss will give u a trouble code[check engine] as well as egr valve and other emission parts but fuel pump usually does not

99 ford expedition 4.6 misses / egr? vacuum?

it's getting to much egr the egr has gone bad and needs replaced.
the diaphragm in the egr is leaking, and default position for air is when you hit 3000 rpm you don't have enough vacuum.

Losing power/acceleration on hills

Change or clean the EGR valve and install a new catalytic converter.
This should take care of the problem.
