Question about Cars & Trucks
Your question is not very clear, but I will do my best to help you. The hose that connects to the thermostat on the engine block could be leaking or the thermostat housing (inside it is the thermostat) has a leaky gasket. Either way, change out the hose or the gasket!

No you cannot change from right hand drive to LHD as vehicle vin shows more than a number and changing it over it is not permittedbeen built.Once you try to change the plates here in europe with a converted vehicle its spotted straight away from the vin number and then you are not allowed to change the plates and certain places the vehicle can be impounded as un roadworthy.trust me on this one i prepare the paperwork here in spain for people who want to import their cars. This would be nightmare waiting to happen .

The Freelander, along with all Land Rovers are permanently in 4 wheel drive: You need to take the car to a workshop to see what is happening. Freelanders have big problems with the transfer box, this maybe the problem. When you reverse the car and put the car steering to full lock whilst reversing, do you feel that the car is blocking or binding, as though you have the brakes on. If so this is an indication that the transfer box is faulty. These boxes cannot be repaired, replacement only and are quite expensive.
Hope this helps

The first thing you need to note is if the temperature is normal whilst you are using the car, if it is then it is probably just a sticking thermostat and to be honest that is not a great problem, however if your car is running hot whilst driving you need to check your coolant level which can be seen in a spherical bottle at the rear (left side I think) of the engine compartment ( DO NOT OPEN THE TOP OF THIS BOTTLE UNTIL THE ENGINE IS COOL ) if the level of coolant is low top it up, also look for debris around the radiator grill and keep the air flow path open.
If everything seems ok but the fan still runs excessivly leave another thread and I will explain how to faulf find the circuit to check the thermostat.

Yes, from the workshop manual, the 1.8 litre K-Series engine
Firing order is 1 - 3 - 4 - 2
Download a copy of the RAVE CD off the 'Net and you'll have all the workshop manuals, owner's manual, electrical diagrams, etc.
