Question about 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix

2005 POntiac Grand Prix-All windows not working

I checked the fuse and it was fine. It started to occur intermittently but now has happened often enough for me not to use them for fear of them being stuck while down. When I push the window button i heard a clicking noise but I couldn't tell if it was from inside the door or the steering column, but i'm leaning more toward the door below the side-view mirror. Also, if the fan blowers are active, the lose power while i push the window button and all the interior and dash lights go dim. Over time the clicking noise didn't occur but was replaced by a noise like it was straining to move, like the hum of a refrigerator.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks for the info, I'll check the relay, but as for the motor, its all four windows that aren't working.

Under the Hood there is a Fuse Relay Box that has Relays in it. There is a Relay in this for the Windows. Replace this Relay. If that does not work it very well could be the Motor on the door Making the Noise and you will need to replace the motor.

No Problem! Happy to Help! If it is a Bad Short but the Motor is Still operating a Small bit it can cause the Rest to Shut down Because the Relay is sending all the Power to the one Window. I would replace the Relay First though before you get into the Rest.

There is a fuse for that,or breaker, check this before anything else. Then I would be looking at the body control module being at fault.

Hey I literally just today had the same problem, put a new bulb in the light was on but did not blink!!!! SUPER EASY SOLUTION, you simply have the bulb in too far. I gently pulled mine out a tiny bit and it started working fine... guarantee that's all that's happening to you!!!

2005 grand prix heater problem! Heater won't turn on at all. Car has many fuses under hood and inside, including relays. Which fuse number or relay number do you think it is?

I had the same problem, disconnect the battery cables and check your cabin filter that's what usually cause it. It should start back working once you connect the cables but make sure to check the cabin filter and replace if needed.

Hi I started my car tonight and I turned the headlamps on and they wouldn't turn on. I tried my fog lights on they worked and even the fuse are in good shape what could that be ? Any tips? It is a 2005...

first check the head light bulbs if good and fuses good its most likely the headlight switch in the dash also test the dimmer switch it could be bad this is all that could be wrong in a normal situation

HELP!! Having electrical issues with my 2005 Pontiac

electical is hard to diagnose with out being there. i would treat each problem seperately. first you will need to test the engine temp gauge sending unit. in a dealership this is easy with a scanner they can run a sweep test to se if the gauges are responding.you don't want the engine to over heat if the gauge is not working. next problem the dome light should be easy to fixe does the dome light work with the dome switch?remove the bulb and with the doors open and switch on check for voltage, if voltage check connection and or replace bulb. if no voltage check fuses for voltage.last will need to have the dtc po243 checked out by a repair shop. i hope this will help.

2005 Pontiac grand prix 3.8 doesn't start

Try this: Turn ignition on for AT LEAST 10 minutes without doing anything else. After 10 minutes, turn the key to start, thre is a good chance of it running. Long explanation, but it has to do with the PassLock security system futzing up.
