SOURCE: Location of Power Steering Reservoir

As far as I remember, the reservoir is part of the pump But...If it's not there it is easy to find...there are two hoses on the pump...one leads to the steering box mounted to the frame, the other goes to the reservoir, then to the steering box.

1996 ford fiesta diesel steering wheel stiff when driving

Not a lot to go on here. At a guess, my first action would be to check that the power steering fluid is topped up and that the power steering pump has not failed (Presuming of course that the vehicle has power steering).

Hi, i need to put water in my Ford Ka because the light is flashing and havent done it for a while. There are three tanks under the bonnet, one says power steering fluid so i assume its not that one. Then...

Hi, I'm not familiar with the Ka,but did the light go out after adding water? There are only 2 car fluids that are red. One is auto transmission fluid and one is a type of coolant. The transmission reservoir is in the pan, so I doubt you could have seen red fluid in the transmission without pulling up the dipstick. You can also try disconnecting the level sensor on the reservoir that you added water to. If the coolant light goes on and off when you short the terminals in that connector together (use a paper clip), then that is the coolant reservoir. My guess is you got it right.

Adding power steering fluid

Locating the Power Steering reservoir and adding PS fluid. 1999 Pontiac GP

  • The reservoir is clearly visible in the engine bay on the 3.1 litre engine cars.
  • For the 3.8 Ltr engine cars, use a flashlight to look down past the alternator for a black cap with a steering wheel printed on it to indicate the power steering fluid reservoir. ( passenger side of the vehicle).
  • Remove the cap of the power steering reservoir, clean the dipstick, re-insert and remove again to check the fluid level. If the level is at or below the low level mark, add fluid slowly, taking care not to fill above the MAXIMUM mark. It's best to add small amounts and re-check the level as you go to ensure you do not overfill the reservoir above the MAX level.
  • ONLY use the power steering fluid recommended for that vehicle by GM.

My power steering fluid needs topping up every couple of weeks is this right or do i have a problem with my ford fiesta finesse 05

You should not have to add fluid on a power steering system. You have a leak somewhere. Do a good visual inspection checking pump, hoses, steering gear signs of leakage. Once you identify the leak it's just a matter of replacing the faulty component.
