It is located on the blower housing.under the dashboard. You will find a wire harness between the blower and the resistor. remove harness and two screws and it should come off.

Why dont the blower work on my 1990 honda accord LX

Is it all speeds it doesn't work or just certain speeds? 2 posssible things to look for first is either the blower is bad or else the variable speed resister may be bad. There is a chance that the switch is bad but I would check the other first. If you can pull the blower motor and put 12v to it and it works, then it might be the resister. If you only have certain speeds that work then it may be the resister.

2001 Alero, Blower worked on high only and then died. Replaced the resister. Started it up and everything seamed to work. Came out the next day and had to jump the car. The blower didn't work at all....

Are you sure the HVAC controls are funtioning properly? You should use a test lamp, buzz box, or a VOM (VOLT OHM METER) to test those controls along with the blower motor resistor, blower relay and the blower itself. This will take you all of 4 to 5 hours if you are a backyard mechanic. I will tell you this-power from all of the blower settings on your HVAC control in your dash does end up going thru a relay. This also could be what mechanics call an intermittent. You also need to know some basics about the wiring in automobiles.

  • The blower resister sits behind the blower motor under the pasinger side dash. It is replacable without replacing the blower motor itself.

The blower fan uses a multi segment resister to control the fan speed, it is generally mounted just under the blower in the ducting. The reason 1,2 and 3 are not working is, sections of the resister is burnt out. The lower speeds are the first ones to go since they get hotter due the higher load in soaking the unused power. Resister is around $20. look for blower resister.

The Heat on my 2006 Honda Accord does not work unless it is turned on high. Is this a fuse problem or switch problem.

This sounds like a blower motor resister problem, that is where you get the other blower speeds from

2002 dodge ram 1500 ac works on hi only . works great on hi only

Hi, this problem isn`t to bad.Replace the blower resister,or resister module, located in the blower box, could be mounted outside under hood in firewall(near windshield)passengers side.It also could be mounted under dash very near blower in blower box,for this resister has to be cooled by the blower motor. This resister is the speeds for your blower.

No blower motor, for the heater, maybe control modular

Temporay Fix try hitting the unit on the passenger side. Dust & Debris may be the culprit

The heater / ac blower only works on high. It is not the blower or the control switch or the blower motor relay. Please help. Thank George

It is the blower resister. I purchasted one at auto zone for $18.00. It is located under the passenger side dash. You need to remove the glove box and the plastic cover under the dash to expose the blower motor. the blower motor resister is right next to the motor. Simply unplug the resister remove the two screws and replace. I did this and now my fan works on all speeds.
