04 Grand am Weird starting patterns

My 2004 Pontiac grand am has given me alot of grief lately. I had problems starting it, with the oil lamp light and battery light popping up while the car would not start and sometimes even the security light. I have had the battery replaced, a new fuel pump put in and have had 2 diagnostic checks; but the problem persists. It seems to work fine the first time after I haven't used it within a day or so, but in 3 hour intervals or less it gives me problems. It has also died while I was driving twice. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I had a similar problem with mine, although mine never died when I was driving it. Mine just would not start randomly. It was the security Passlock system on my car as well. I did't notice that the security light had come on the first time. Look up Passlock in the owners manual.

  1. You can reset it yourself for free by turning the key to accessory position
  2. Leave for ten minutes on accessory mode.
  3. Turn car off completely
  4. Try to restart.
This fixed my problem on my own after I paid to have it fixed and it happened again the next day.

Nothing happens when i turn on my heater. No sound no heat. Sometimes it comes on when I hit a bump. Now nothing is happining. Could it be the switch behind? Could it have come disconnected some how? And...

check the connection on the heater blower its self, remove the panel under the dash on the passengers side of the car and the heater blower is to the left next to the door it should be fairly easy to reach up and just push on the plug and then check to see if it kicks on bumps can cause wires to get loose over time and more often than not a loose wire can be the cause of alot of grief

04 Grand Prix oil leak

if it is not leaking then it is being burned by the engine, how many miles go by before you need to add oil?, if u are adding more than one quart every 1000 miles u have piston reing problems and or valve guide seal leaks. U won't see any smoke in most cases unless you are really going through the oil, like 1 quart every 300 miles.

Have you noticed if the noise changes while doing a swerve to the left or right ? If so , it is likely a wheel bearing & will require replacement of the entire hub .
