I think you disturbed a connection in the transmission repair area becuase the antitheft system needs to communicate with the powertran control module and your encoded key to allow the engine to start. The antitheft module disables the starter and also will not allow the engine to start if there is not proper communication. look for fully seated connections and be sure there is no modue attached to the old trans that should have been transferred.

My 1996 Ford explorer it was running fine the day before, it won't start. Seems like it wants to start. I plugged the code reader up and it wont connect. I'm stumped.

Check all fuses includeing main fuse if all good. While cranking check for spark if spark present check for fuel pressure , if no spark test coil if coil is good I would suspect a bad computer if no fuel pressure you have a bad fuel pump

My 1991 Ford Tempo won't start. It turns over but doesn't spark. The battery has been replace, checked fuel pump and spark plugs but it still won't turn on. Help?

change the ignition pick up coil assembly normally located on the distributor under the rotor on the bottom of the distributor or just replace the distributor

1991 ford explorer will not turn over when hot

Have the battery tested and check the battery positive cable for corrosion. Also have a amperage draw test done on the starter motor, it is one of them. If it just clicks but won't start then the starter is defective in most cases. Have it properly diagnosed by a dealer before any parts are replaced to avoid unnecessary parts replacement

Check for vacuum leak at intake manifold or bad fuel pump relay or have fuel pressure checked to see if fuel pump is working properly 40-45 psi it should be pumping

My explorer won't start, It was dead, I charged the battery. got a clicking noise. the battery died again, charged it and let it sit for a couple hours, went to try again, didn't even have to...

if the batter has a drain the starter may be at fault the starter can drain a battery with out running i would unhook the battery cables then charge the battery then i would have the starter tested.

My 1991 ford explorer won't start it just clicks

If you turn your head lights on and they are dull, the battery is flat or dead.If not may be a starter motor issue.
