Hello,
Your particular model is susceptible to ignition lead and spark plugs breaking down, as these items are not the cheapest people tend to overlook them on full services.
Renewing leads and plugs will improve economy and performance no end.
I hope this points you in the right direction?

This is a result of either a bad solder job at the factory or just bad solder. You can remove your gage cluster and remove and resolder the joints at the back of the 2 indicators. there are several sites on the internet that have specific instructions.

Hi Ken You seem to have two faults with your vehicle. One will be a speed sensor and the other possibly a bad connection. Take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan and pin point the problems (which the scan will do) and then sort them out. Regards John

Engine timing

If all your marks are right there is a process for seting the timing that some people are not aware of. Did you jump the terminals at the data link connector (number 1) ? If you did not the toming will never set itself. Below is the proper procedure for setting the timing. Make sure your idle is at 700 + 50 and in nuetral. Hope this helps. The botom picture is the location of the data link connect (DLC1) that needs to be jumped.
