I have a 97 chevy astro awd with a 103k miles. When i put the van in drive it feels like its is in 3rd gear.. very slow moving...The indicator does not light up for Drive, 3, 2 or 1... it does for park ,reverse and neutral.. What do you think is wrong ?
Thanks Steve
Drop down relay in trans

It is possible that a local parts store will have it. Just ask for the drop down solenoid for that vehicle. Try to put it in low 1 and see if it takes off faster and then shift to Low 2 and then Drive as you are driving (same as if it were manual transmission). I'm not sure about the price. The solenoid should be in the transmission pan and not in the actual transmission so it should be less expensive to repair.
