SOURCE: 03 Buick Rendezvous Overheating

If the top hose is hot and the bottom is cold, your definitely not getting circulation. You,ve already done alot of work to this vehicle so you have pretty much answered your own question. About the only thing left is the heater core. Of course, I dont want to be the one to tell you it is definitely the heater core because obviously I am not looking at the vehicle. But If i was a betting man, thats where my money would be.

Mazda 626 is overheating. changed the thermostat twice in 10 weeks Both fans are working;increase temp when Accelerating.tried to bleed air from the system but this model doesn't have a bleed valve.

is coolant circulating in motor/radiator? does radiator top hose get hot when engine has been warmed up? might be water pump, not thermostat. and you do have plenty of antifreeze/coolant in radiator I'm sure.

Fix an overheating buick rendezvous 2002. Truly overheated once, then had the radiator flushed and replaced, along with thermostat (twice) and water pump. Now, the computer indicates it is overheating

You have a needle in a haystack because so many things can cause your problem. I am leaning toward the main computer - which you can replace yourself for around $300. There are companies on the internet that will send you your pre-programmed computer, you have to supply your VIN number. Like many internet companies I always recommend that you are careful in your selection. Be careful to find a reliable company and call them on the phone to make sure they are a real company. If they do not have a phone number - find a different company.

Here are a couple things to try first:
1) Coolant sensor - but this usually makes your car run really poor because it can change the gas/air ratio. If your car is running great other than the overheating sensor - then this probably is not the problem. But worth checking.

2) Serpentine Belt - sometimes when you change the serpentine belt you can put it back on the pulleys out of order. Your car can run great but can cause overheating especially if you have the water pump turning backwards. Since you had the water pump changed you might just take a look at the belt to make sure it is wound correctly. There should be a sticker under the hood.

All said -- I am still leaning toward the main computer.

Fix an overheating buick rendezvous 2003 temporarily so i can sell it?

Temporary fix would scam someone else. You need to find out why it is overheating and fix it to sell it. Provide some more info about when it overheats etc. If you are low on coolant it will do this, If the thermostat is bad it will do this. If the thermostat was replaced and put in backwards or upside down it will do this. When it overheats, how much?? does it blow coolant out?? If you had the rad cap off while it was cool and then warmed it up is there air bubbling in the coolant which would indicate a head or head gasket problem. Is the car old enough that it has a v belt, if so is it very loose? Is the radiator visibly plugged??

Hot coolant temperature reaches its highest level in quite short time what's wrong??

Might just be a stuck thermostat. Replace it and see if it solves the problem. If it doesn't, you may need the radiator serviced and rodded out or install a new core.

I changed the thermostat and the sensor and put more fluid in it took it to the store about 20 min away and it started over heating again

Find the bleed screws on the engine and bleed the coolant system of air.once the air is gone from the cooling system the engine should cool fine, also check to make sure the cooling fans are coming on when they are supposed to.

What's the coolant capacity for my 2003 Buick Rendezvous?

on a water pump change u will need to put at least 1 gallon of 50/50 mix coolant in, make sure you bled the system of air or it will overheat.

I have a 2002 Buick Rendezvous that is overheating, then cooling down, then overheating again. It seems that when I'm on the highway it cools, but local streets, it heats up. I've changed the thermostat...

I ahd the same issue and just had to bleed the air out of the system. Use the bleeder valve on the top of the intake tube, you cant miss it. Stat your car and open that valvethe air/steam will start to come out. Keep that open until you get coolant flowing out of there and then close it. Took me about 5 min. and heat works fine. Please rate my answer to let me know if that was any help. Thanks
