How do you change the headlight in a 2000 ford escort zx2

Under the hood - follow the wires to the back of the headlight assembly. Separate the connector and remove the lock ring around it. Coax the bulb out - it is held in with a rubber ring. Note the position - the new bulb will only go in in the same position. Replace the lock ring and the wire connector.

I'm looking for instructions for changing the headlight bulb on a 2002 ford escort. I need to know how to gain access to the bulb so I can change it.

pop your hood and disconnect the wire that is plugged to the back of the head light. You then can twist the bulb and it should come out. Be careful when installing the new bulb not to touch it with your fingers. The oil in our skin wil cause the new bulb to burn out a few seconds after installation.

Lights go off when i turn on the high beam

Pull your lever back if the high beams work that way you need a new high/low beam switch, if they do not you need to replace headlight bulbs.
