Your wiring could not have been checked thoroughly. Heres an easy solution. Establish if the earth (-12v) to the bulb holder is stable. If it is then run a new wire from the front park lamps to the rear. That will solve your problem. Remember to cut off the original wire that goes to the rear and insulate it well.

SOURCE: Toyota 4runner gate window, wiper, and keyless entry not working

make sure the back window is all the way up then try the wiper, if it still does not work then it is a sensor for the rear window (about $30.00) if you installed it yourself

SOURCE: rear window and passenger windows will not

The last couple of times I have seen this complaint, the "Lock" button on the master (driver's door) switch had been depressed. Unlatching the lock button (pushing it again) solved the problem. On most cars, when the lock button is depressed, the windows can still be operated by the driver, but prevent the windows from being operated by the passengers. Toyota is different. If the lock button is depressed, nobody, including the driver can work the wndows.

check to make sure that the wiper is not stuck in the window seal. Pull it out if it is and then try. The window will not roll down if the wiper is in that position.

My rear wipers, rear washer and rear defrost stopped working. I have changed the fuses. what else would cause these 3 to stop?

I had the same problem, 97 4 runner. I followed #1 solution: start engine, lower rear window, raise/close rear window. Turn off engine, restart engine and it should re-set. It did for me.

Double check the fuses under the hood.
If there is no problems there, you have to open the hatch trim by popping off the clips. Look for the connectors enure they are non corroded or loose.

1992 4 runner,is there something besides the wiper motor that might go bad if the wipers don't work?

There may be a bad ground or a bad switch check the fuse if it burn out then the motor is using too much amps to do its job replace the motor if it blows fuses.

My 4 runner rear window wiper, washer and defroster won't work after pressing window down button on remote control. Any suggestions?

Just wanted to pass this on. My rear wiper and washer would not work. Solved problem by raising and lowering rear window. The rear window in the cold weather had dropped just low enough that the safty switch would not let the washer and wiper come on. Got this idea from the internet.
