http://www.am-autoparts.com/AM/Blower-Mo... His is a link for You so You will know the shape of the fan blower, You will find it on the engine compartment fire wall, right side You will see the motor part, because the fan turbine is inserted in to plastic housing, it is attached with 4 bolts, and has a rubber elbow and an electrical wire

Replacing is kind of a pain but can be done. You might want to disconnect your battery just to be safe. It is located in the engine compartment attached to the firewall almost dead center.

I had to remove the long metal bar that goes across the back side of the engine compartment by removing the nuts where it attaches.

I also had to remove the bolts for a metal piece attached to the back of the engine that acts as a mounting place for several hoses and/or wires. I did not remove it completely just removed the bolts leaving everything else in place and let it hang.

There are 4 or five small bolts holding the blower to the firewall. The blower motor has kind of a cover that is bolted on with it. There is a small hose coming out of the bottom of the cover and going into the firewall just below. You will want to remove the wiring and this cover by itself probably and put aside to reuse as my replacement Blower from Autozone did not come with one.

It is a bit of a puzzle to both remove and replace the motor itself as there does not appear to be enough room for it to come out. Most of it is inside the fire wall and you need to pull it out and carefully maneuver it till you can slip it out.

Then reverse the process to replace. Hope this helps someone

Buick engine swap,94 3800 motor into 97 lesabre ,is it compatable?

Well there are several 3.8 liter engines 8th digit in the vin tells it all Vin3,C,K,L are all different is small settle ways the most is ignition electronics Vin 3 engines only use the inner sensor ring on crank pulley Vin 3, c,k,l use both sensor rings but they are different also Changing the pulley is not recommended due to balance issues but the sensor rings are bolted on with sheer bolts that can be removed. Intake manifold design is the second most important plastic 2 piece and metal one piece are not inter change able.

There are two knock sensors, they are located in the bottom of the engine engine block water jacket, one for each cylinder bank. You must service them from under the engine.

Where is the power steering pump on a 1997 buick leSabre 3800

ou are looking at the engine, on the left (passenger side) will be the belt. The alternator should be at the top of the belts route. directly below the alt is the tensioner/pulley (small) Below and to the rear of the vehicle is the power steering pump. The resevoir is attached to the pump. If you reach/look over the engine and feel below the heater hoses you will see the p/s pump resevoir cap

Can i put a transmission from a 87 olds delta 88 with a 3800 series into a 96 buick lesabre 3800 series II? will it work?

No as it will not comunicate with the ecm resulting in poor engine performance. The 87 tranny is not electronically controlled and the 96 is. Do not attempt this transplant as it will be a waste of money and time

Turning off

It's common on the 3800 series motors to have crankshaft position sensors go bad. when it dies check to see if it has spark. If it doesn't this is likely your problem.
